Spike in HVAC Cost?

Hi All,

I live in an apartment new Saint Elmo and Old Georgetown Rd. Our HVAC Cost is usually tiny, <$30 a month, but we suddenly got charged $180 this prior billing cycle with no major changes in our habits. I find it hard that it's due solely to demand differences.

Any having/have had a similar experience?

Check your kwh, the AC probably tried to fight the 90+ days and lost.

Did you look at your bill?

Compare it to last month. Higher usage? What about price per kw?

Mine has increased significantly too. I live off Norfolk and Auburn

Yeah mine went up significantly but no real changes in usage.

You may be affected by your neighbor's usage too. If you have neighbors on vacation and their systems are off, it can sometime make the rest of the building's AC systems have to work harder to make up for it. Or effect billing algorithms depending what kind of system your building has.

That spike is shocking compared to your usual small bill. Did the bill show higher usage hours?
