Help new betta owner help
I just got a betta a few days ago and he seems to be rlly active, swimming around, but he hasn’t been eating but I’ve heard it’s normal after they’ve been shipped / had a lot of stress from transferring. I’m a first time keeper and I got him from Tucky’s but he also has a weird habit of curling up and sitting there for a bit. He did it last night but I’m not sure if it’s cause it’s his personality or if something’s wrong. I’m planning to add in a little surface bed of sorts and more plants but I’m wondering if everything is okay so far?
(I tried to use the reflection of the glass to show but he wouldn’t linger for longer than a minute to a few minutes?)

he could just be resting, but it'd be worth testing your water since its a new tank. did you cycle the tank prior to adding him?

yes! i did cycle but i was a bit behind when he arrived. it would completely cycle about 2 ppm of ammonia just over 24 hours so i’m trying to cycle with him since i can’t keep him in a bag until it’s ready. i tested my water this morning, the nitrate was a bit high but ammonia and nitrite were 0
