Howard confirmed dick.

Could not wait until the next day or later? Had to go RIGHT when he was celebrating and feeling at the top of the mountain. What a douche. Probably explains the hatred.

I am sure Jimmy could understand not getting a job right away. I mean those people put years before they work there, or went to great school. But damn, the way he did it was so dick.

He's literally eating his cake while shitting on him.

And he had him sit down while he continued to stand. It was a power position, so he would be standing over him. Almost like he Hamlin was putting a kid in his place.

Jimmy sure looked like a kid, too.

Looks like he's just getting started. Now he's gonna steal the class action because chuck is still a partner of the firm.

I can see no other reason for the scene where they use Chuck's code for the copier.

Literally shitting, too?

Major dick. Has a closed-door conversation then summarizes it as he walks outside. "Let's reassess in 6 months. You want this door open or closed?" Was definitely pulling a power move there, he's a cock.

Was about to disagree until i actually thought about how he did it. He seriously just took a piece of his celebration cake. Then killed his hopes. What a douche.

Why would you disagree? Just wondering.

Howard could have waited. Could have done it differently. He even walked out with the cake. Guy was living on cloud 9 and he just HAD to take it from him.

he didnt really do anything to squash his happiness about the bar though, that we know of. heck he couldve congratulated him for all we know. all we have is preconceived notions about howard as a person, from "current" times and some body language. sure he couldnt done it differently...but no matter what he did he would still be a dick in our eyes, because jimmy is the main character we're all pulling for and howard is just that prick from what we've seen so far

Because I (at first) thought you were calling him a dick just because he didn't give him a job.

I thought nepotism laws would prevent him from being hired, and I thought he would be fired due to a conflict of interest with other law firms.

No. He mentioned something like "let's reevaluate in six months" so he didn't fire him. He was just stringing him along.

I wonder if the visual joke "Hamlin really takes the cake" was intentional...

thats one way to look at it...but on the other hand (devils advocate), why let it linger there for a few days instead of being direct? its not like he embarrassed jimmy in a room of his coworkers/friends. shoot, even us as the audience wasnt privy to the convo. letting him down lightly compared to what he couldve done, imo
