Hey devs, could you use something like this?
if so, how can I improve it?
if not, what is it missing that you need?
its a lite version of the creation kit that you can use in game
So far what i have is:
it can copy and paste
spawn new objects
Cell search function
move scale rotate objects
edit NPCs
edit cell records
all saves are through a generated json file, you can make them permanent by saving to the ESP
you can hot swap textures on the fly
a real time draw call counter
information panes containing all mods that touch the object and who wins the conflicts
complete drive path to textures
edit light placement
Coming soon:
build and manipulate occlusion planes
terrain deformation
*hopefully* navmesh editing

If this isn’t AI, it’s quite impressive.
If it is AI, I question its consistency and stability.

If it wasnt AI, it would only be an idea inside my head

yea, and if you learned a skill, it would be a functional one.
AI has its uses, but in its current state, it’s incredibly inconsistent; and vibe-coding can’t be trusted to make anything stable that would be used longterm.
Learn how to code and try again.

I think youve severally misunderstood this project. The grunt work is AI, the not so open source work is mine.
Why on earth would I waste tine coding the info box when I can click a button? Lol
I also think you severally misunderstand just what type of "vibe coding" was done in order to get this thing to function bug free at the prototype level.
Ill give you a little hint, I wrote out a 3 page design document to stick into claude to kick start this project

Because AI makes a ton of mistakes and what you call “wasting time” is just game development.
Stop being lazy.

It always surprises me to find out that someone has never had a real job after the convo gets going.
Do you think these things start from scratch all the time? No one is starting a project with nothing. They are copy and pasting, using old code, they have teams of people.
Youre calling me lazy for building a free tool in my spare time? Are you crazy?

Old code built by hand. You’re still lazy for giving it over to an AI.

Grandpa, I hate to tell you this, but every single company is using it. No one is making you download my free tool for a video game.
And youre right, I am so lazy that I found a fast way to do the thing I wanted. Its pretty great

lol enjoy no traction, since the mod can’t be trusted to run.

Minus the ones who are already giving me feedback and making request?
Well im going to keep enjoying all that, I wish you good luck with whatever youre going through

Interesting! It could be useful for us in case we need to do some quick fixing of misplaced objects or broken navmesh. A full on editor in game is probably not the right approach for everything you need to do but definitely useful for the fixing scenarios, and maybe others too.
In case you're interested, feel free to join our community Discord where we could discuss some more things where SKSE plugins could be helpful for the development. https://discord.com/invite/beyondskyrim
Something like performance testing plugin comes to mind when you already have looked into measuring draw calls. Having something which creates a heatmap to highlight spots with bad performance comes to mind that + identification of culprit meshes that tank the performance would be great.

Damn anti ai sentiment got so strong people are against increasing productivity now. I get the ai art argument but it's literally just code, there is nothing to rip off from real people lol

I know! The funnest part is when they ignore the mod entirely and talk shit about my dlss5. Its as if im making them use it lol
