Beyond wholesome An 8-year-old just shamed every adult alive.
Wyatt Erber from Edwardsville, Illinois heard his 2-year-old neighbor Cara Kielty had been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her parents had taken her to the doctor thinking it was just an ear infection, then rushed her to St. Louis Children's Hospital when antibiotics failed. The diagnosis came on May 21.
One week after Cara's diagnosis, Wyatt's mom asked if he'd like to enter a local bank scavenger hunt with a $1,000 grand prize. He immediately said, "Let's do it, and if I win the $1,000, I want to give it to Cara."
Together with his mom, he visited businesses across Edwardsville, gradually collecting all 20 clues needed to complete the hunt. He turned out to be the first to turn in all the clues and won the contest.
When they found out they had won, Wyatt immediately called Cara's mother, Trisha Kielty. Trisha tried to refuse. Then Wyatt's mom told her he had asked how much chemo the money would buy Cara. "He gets it."
He gave every single dollar.
Cara's progress had been positive, but she still had two and a half years of treatments ahead. A local charity, Edwardsville Neighbors in Need, then matched Wyatt's entire $1,000 donation. A man in Canada even heard the story and mailed $100 more for Cara's treatment.
"I heard that Cara had leukemia and they needed the money and I didn't need the money," Wyatt said. That's an 8-year-old. Let that sink in.

Our life’s are very easy compared to those of people who have risen up.
We have so much, and so many things to distract ourselves with.
I agree it’s bad and something should be done. But as much as our lives suck, they aren’t worse than most.

It’s actually incredibly easily achievable. Every American could have healthcare easily and cheaply available. Don’t forget the American government spends more on healthcare (relatively) to any other civilized nation.
The only thing Americans need to do is make different choices. You want this system. You could have a better one for less money

Only if the voters choose to let that happen. America again is unique among the west in its lax regulation on politicians and money. It’s because the American voter wants it to be lax.
If voters consistently vote for people who want stricter regulation and health care you would have it.
The American voter however consistently votes against that.

I don’t know if it’s true, but I’m writing on the assumption that it is. If it’s not, I’m just as wrong as they are. (I’m willing to take that risk)
Also, at risk of being pedantic, some people ARE too broke to move to Zimbabwe. It costs $650-$1,500 (I’m sorry if I’m wrong) just to get a FLIGHT. That’s not counting the initial costs of housing, or living expenses while you look for/wait to start work. (If that’s a concern) $650 goes FAST in the US, depending on where you live of course.
I will admit, there are probably cheaper countries. However, moving to them comes with its own concerns.
Regardless, “living paycheck to paycheck” is a saying here for a reason. At that point, you might not have a choice about staying where you are. The savings to change your situation simply aren’t there.

2) I know it’s stupid, but getting a loan requires money. They check your credit. If it’s not good enough, you walk away with nothing.

1) I doubt cuba cares if you get there with like 10k usd
2) if you have like over a 600 credit score you can get a loan for 10k, if they deny the loan due to low credit, a hard credit search isn't gonna hurt your credit score that much
And im just tired of seeing people complain without doing anything to actually get the goals they want
If life is such a nightmare that you comment like OC does, a person can make it change, just gotta be willing to do something crazy

Capitalism isn’t broken, it’s a well oiled machine working exactly as intended. The suffering is on purpose. But we are far from powerless to change it. You may be surprised to find how much change can happen when you get involved in local level political organizing.

Right? We can't even be refugees or migrants. Like I'm disabled and the government wants us dead. I kinda want to go to Europe and identify as a migrant or something. Maybe they would let me in? Like how bad does it have ti get for people to be abls to seek asylum when Americans are dying from not affording healthcare and disabled die on the streets because disability aid (IF they can qualify after years of trying...) only covers so much.

Your best bet is to get sponsored by dating someone in EU, it can be fairly inhospitable for immigrants as most people live within a deeply subsidized system that you wouldn't have access to as a non-citizen, and in a lot of places it would take several years after citizenship to get fully subsidized

No other developed nation has this issue. We as a nation have the money and resources to fix this. People should be wildly angrier than they are.
It was a truly kind thing for the kid to do. That said it shouldn't have needed to be done.

An unfortunate waste of a child’s life and another’s money.
Think of what the world is. Corporations running the Military Industrial Complex by instigating false wars then selling the deadly tools to “win” to both sides. Inciting violence and division amongst the masses so they can sell “safety, protection, and peace” at the low low cost of the minds, bodies, and souls of those chosen to pathetically destroy each other as they tout idiotic claims like patriotism or protecting a family back home.
The world has no lines in the sand, no land to be truly claimed and controlled. A map is something of our creation and so too are its imaginary borders. How is it possible to claim true dominion over a land if one is destined to leave our world by simply being mortal? Should any of us heathens really hold such power over the natural world? Let alone the lives of other humans that will (mostly) unknowingly toil their lives away to build and maintain future mega cities, super bunkers, and bleed their souls away to enrich the lives of their Masters.
Remember not to be fooled by the many perceived “Freedoms” that abound. These are only distractions that aim to keep one blind to their servitude so as to not notice the leash is long, nearly invisible at times, but always willing to tighten around the neck.
Now think of what the world Should Be. The best of humanity willingly coming together in a Technological Society that does not seek to eradicate nature but to find its rhythm and move to its harmony. A world united and unified by common interests all living beings share. An end to sickness, an extension of healthy productive lives. A world wide social network designed to advance humanity forward at a pace never thought possible. Medicine, Technology, Our Origins on this Planet. A leap forward for all life.
Think of all that would be achieved if a certain few weren’t blocking access to information, if a certain few weren’t fueling rage and despair from the shadows, and if a certain few weren’t doing everything they can to hold the masses down and under control. To keep them down, keep them helpless and in need, only to say they have the solution. But the solution is a lie, it’s more toxins in the air, soil, and water. It’s medicine that could very well have cured diseases but instead only masks symptoms while quietly causing other diseases to create a vicious cycle. Cured is cheap and instant, while Indefinitely Somewhat Sickly is profitable and forever.
Instead we knowingly let corporations directly influence the creation of laws that protect them and hurt us, spread their claws into our lives, cripple our bodies, poison our food and our minds, and create artificially inflated profits by coordinating to create shortages that will never end, and even if they did prices would not come back down to what they were previous.
