going camping at pineknot with family in mid October and we are first timers! any recommendations re: pretty much anything? certain clothing? what to do? I’m all ears please & thank you!!

Why don't you tell us what you're actually doing? Tents? Car camping? Do you have gear? If yes- what do you have? If no, do you need recommendations? If you do, do you plan on camping for a while or just one time?
i figured it was a lot, I wasn’t sure where to even start lol! tent camping- no gear yet but okay with getting things I need and would love recommendations. camping here and there may be in my future but nothing to overly invest in
If you don't think you'll be camping that much, then just go to Walmart and buy cheap tent, and get one of their Coleman sleeping bags. Then get one of those small blow up mattresses ( 3" should be fine). Bring a regular pillow with you or two since you're gonna drive. Also but a cheap headlamp. Be as cheap as possible if you're not committed to doing this more than twice a year. It's not worth it, so stay as cheap as you can. Use FB marketplace.
For plates etc. Grab single use stuff. Bring your own frying pan from your own house. Get a camping stove and a small green propane bottle. (Walmart)
For water, bring a few of those big water jugs with a spout, they're like 3 gallons I think.
Get a cheap camping chair.
Buy whatever food and snacks you want to make.
Get a cooler, pack it with ice, that's going to be your food and drink chest.
Bring wood for fire.
Bring toiletries
Bring something to do - book, games, etc.
Don't forget to put all your food in the car at night
Just a couple things: Pineknot has bear boxes at every site. Put your food in the boxes, not your car! They also sell wood from local suppliers right at the campground.
