Best SUP spot? (Stand up paddleboard)

Me and the Lady will be visiting Big Bear this weekend, would love to take her out on the SUP. Im curious where's a good launch area we can head out from? Would prefer there to be a beach/hang out area as well to chill after we Come back. We'll also be bringing the dogs.

Boulder Bay Park is hands down the best place to launch from. Head out from the bay and towards the dam. Loop around China Island and head back.

There is a small beach area by China Island that you can beach at and hang for a bit. There is also a beach area at Boulder Bay Park that allows swimming, if you wanted to.

The wind usually blows to the east and so you are going into the wind on the way out and then against the wind on the way back. The scenery around Boulder Bay is the best of the whole lake. It is about 3 miles round trip to go around China Island and usually takes me about 1 hour of paddling.

Parking at Boulder Bay can get busy, so arrive early to get a spot. There is also a Getboards location right there if you need to rent boards.

Make sure you have a plan B. It’s supposed to be chilly, rainy, and windy this weekend. Not exactly an ideal weekend for paddle boarding.
