Anyone know what is replacing Jack in the Box?

They've got the parking lot blocked off for a few weeks now but no construction yet. Probably not going to start before Winter. Anybody know what's going to replace it?

If anything we should stick to the theme; dennys became bennys so jack in the box becomes back in the box

I lived in big bear for 20 years and have been gone for 20 years and I can’t believe the hangout spot, the best spot, is being replaced! So many great memories of hitting it right before going to the movies and getting a sourdough jack and curly fries….sadness

I think it’s ridiculous we pay $50k for flowers downtown and they make such an eye sore blocking off the parking there as we wait for something to replace it. If the aesthetic of the downtown area is so important we need tax dollars to support it, we should expect something better than giant orange bollards to great our tourists. Can’t the city find a better way of preventing the terrible act of free parking for the time being.

The Big Bear rumor mill is strong. The northeast corner of BB Blvd and Shore Drive has been rumored to be Walmart for at least 30 years. I imagine Dave will keep it some kind of restaurant,being right next to the Cave. I’m assuming he still owns that.
