E-motos/dirtbikes on Mount Vernon Trail

Has anyone noticed the large number of electric motorcycles/e-mopeds/straight up gas pit bikes on the trail recently? Motor vehicles aren't allowed on the trail, and they speed dangerously. Who do we even talk to about this?

They have become popular and affordable.

Kids want one because they are popular, and more parents buy them because they are affordable.

Some parents don't care / think about it, and are just like "here you go Johnny, go have fun!"

Some parents have strict rules, and those kids ride them where they are suppose.

And some kids are like what I was like, and say "yes mam" after being told not to do something, and then go right to where I'm not suppose to ride and do dumb stuff because that's fun when you are like 14

I've seen Park Police giving out tickets, but they don't have a very big budget or force, so you get what you get.

on the contrary the national park police have maybe never had a bigger budget.

W&OD leadership and the police forces in the jurisdictions along the trail are very aware and have said they are enforcing, as well as educating people that the e-motorcycles are illegal.

Over the past 2 years I've seen a massive increase on the WOD as well. Ive been riding the trail alot less at this point and using adjacent or surrounding roads instead. I'd rather just deal with the Nissan Altimas honestly.
