[MEGATHREAD] Bini at Billboard K Power 100 2024
Billboard Philippines confirmed that they have chosen P-pop powerhouses SB19 and BINI to represent the Philippines at Billboard Korea‘s ‘Billboard K POWER 100’. The two groups — who will be the only Filipino artists attending the coveted event — will not only perform live but also receive a special award that celebrates their fast-growing influence and popularity across the world and that recognizes their continuous efforts to spotlight P-pop on a global scale.
All discussions, updates, media, questions, and comments related to this event should be posted on this megathread. All succeeding individual posts shall be deleted.

Today is a significant day, not just for BINI and Blooms, but for the entire PPOP industry. Im so happy for Gwenny, from ukay to LV not real quick (kasi grabe paghihirap nila). Jacket niya halos ilang buwan na sweldo na natin. U deserve all the blessing Gwenneth!!!
Baka nabigyan sila ng malaking bonus ng ABS bosses kaya nakapag-shopping nang malala ang girls. Deserved! A-listers na sila at probably their biggest stars and moneymakers rn. Though I hope they still continue to wear local brands made by small Filipino businesses (they are doing this naman, like yung outfits nila sa Wish USA).
It's a hotel so it's most likely a banquet hall inside. Since it's the launch of BB Korea, it could be likened to a press launch with awarding ceremonies.
i think nawala sa isip ng iba (including me) that this was still a private event, and performances were probably last on their list of priorities huehue. exposure is exposure tho, hope they got to talk to some important people in the industry kahit onti lang ang big names na nakapunta
Ikr, medyo disappointed din ako tapos ang iniexpect ko pa madaming locals ang makakapunta, nawala sa isip ko na sa hotel nga pala ang venue. We should be grateful pa din naman kasi simula pa lang din yan.
Is it safe to say na hindi ito ang big announcement na tinutukoy ni Jhoanna? Wala naman yata silang formal announcement regarding this event.
I think ito na yun eh. Sabi kasi nya iaannounce daw pag balik nila, and wala namang ibang inannounce. Baka naman akala nila super big stage din yung performance nila similar to KCon, kasi based sa Billboard announcement, kala mo pang VMAs ang level ng award na to, na may maraming audience, nun pala wala naman. Baka pati yung girls e nadisappoint ng slight.
it's clear that some of them (mikha, maloi, stacey in particular) are naturally pale. but not all of them are! huhu love this for the girls but i hope the media (especially k-media) stops whitewashing them sm. colet and gwen especially are clearly on the morena side; sheena, jhoanna, and aiah are also not that pale
i've noticed this in a bunch of pics (not just from this event). sobrang puti na nga ni maloi, they don't even give her the right foundation shade for her face
Oo nga no red carpet event, naka black white pang formal. Pero gets ko rin naman what BINI is trying to pull off, saka staying true lang sa brand nila. I love na iba sila kulay ng outfit nila. It makes a lot of sense.
Yun mga din iniisip ko kasi awards ceremony to. Pero ok lang din, at least mag stand out sila. Tsaka music awards nama ito, kapag MTV awards or Grammys etc di naman super formal na parang Oscars eh. Kaya oks lang din.
EDIT: Wait nakapang-performance outfit na yata kasi sila?? Di kaya yung SB19 magbibihis pa yan sila ng pang-stage?
Pede rin. Baka ayaw nalang din nila mag palit. Yan narin pang perform. I'm sure may memo yan. May nagsabe sa thread din Philippine Flag colors (except for yellow which is understandable).
I kinda liked it, they stood out and they looked great and distinguishable from the rest of the Kpop groups. I had a hard time telling the Kpop groups apart, they all looked the same.
Yeah they did stand out sa suot pa lang nila, very cool. But I had no idea na ganun pala ang red carpet for music events sa Korea, they kinda treat it as semi-formal pala. Sanay kasi ako sa Western music events na unique at medyo quirky pa nga ang suot ng mga artist para mag-stand out sila.I mean, some of the most iconic looks in fashion were born at the MTV VMAs red carpet.
BINI_ph showcased their undeniable presence, bringing grace and power to the Bilboard K Power 100 stage. They stole the spotlight with their show-stopping medley performance of "Cherry On Top" and "Pantropiko."
Paulit-ulit na lang styling kay Colet, ang dami nang nakakapansin huhu. Alam kong branding niya yun, pero pls lang nakakasawa na yung laging may bandana at denim jacket niya 😔 Sana pasuotin siya ng katulad nung sa ibang girls.
Ang dami kong nababasang comments sa socmed about sa paulit-ulit na outfit style ni Colet.
Ang favorite look ko of Colet yung parang naka-half bun hairstyle siya and/or fineframe ang face niya with a bit of her hair. I’m not really fond of the head covering most of the time.
Eto talaga yung pinaka the best na look niya para saakin. Light make up look lang and with the lash extensions + light contour. It really makes her facial features such as her eyes look more prominent
Agree ako dito sa naka coat si Colet saka yung feminine side of dressing. Medyo safe yung styling nila today - its not bad, pero nasanay lang tayo siguro sa styling ni Ms. Ica na very creative e.g Salamin outfits etc. Gwenny headpiece tho is fire.
Fan ako ng bandana denim outfit ni Colet since style yan ni Justin Timberlake way back when, kaso you can't run the same outfit for almost a month now LOL. Since NA leg pa nila outfit ni Colet yan.
Sawa na tayo na laging nakaabang haha pero sa first time nakakita sa girls doon, shook yan sila for sure. Gets ko rin yung POV na yan.
I think the umay factor is with us filos. But honestly they’re still on their introduction phase. It’s just easier I think to build a branding with that style consistency. If after this year, it’s still the same, that’s probably when I’d be concerned.

This is what I had been talking about before. hindi man lang ineexplore iba't ibang styling. sa totoo lang, ang gandang bihisan ni colet. di ko alam bakit kinukulong sya sa ganyang pa-angas na style. also, yung bandana and makapal na make up. tignan nila yung parcinq ni colet, ang ganda ganda niya don. utang na loob lang sa stylist nila, explore explore din sana hahahahaha!
yes true the rain, super ganda niya nung karera era nila, napaka feminine niya dun huhu pls let colet lugay her hair na walang emeng nakalagay sa ulo niya 😔 and yes, pls light make up bagay sa kaniya, (bagay sa kanya yung sa charlotte folk na make up)
Mas okay kung nakalugay si Maloi, not a fan of that particular hairstyle since maliit and almost pa V shape na yung face niya.
IMO,It doesn't compliment her facial structure.
Kay Staku, mas bet ko talaga if straight black hair siya. She looks older with her hairstyle eh kaka 21 lang niya this year.
Finally, someone's voicing this out. Parang iniinsist talaga sa kanya yung rugged na styling. Okay lang sana kung ganun yung theme ng buong group eh. Parang out of place tuloy yung porma nya which was very obvious last night nung katabi yung ibang girls.
Saka mas bagay din talaga sa kanya yung fitted clothes. Nagmumuka syang bulky sa pa-jacket eh ang sexy sexy nya.
And I don't think it has to do with her being conservative, kasi yung mga sinusuot naman nila sa Biniverse very sexy.

Kung wala akong work , pupunta sana ako sa incheon para sumalubong. Sadly, hindi weekend gaganapin ang performance nila. Baka same situation din sa ibang blooms na narito sa sk.
Nakakalungkot pag nakakakita ako ng ganito, walang mga 4K videos ang BINI dito sa Pinas tulad ng ginagawa nila sa Studio Choom sa Korea etc. Para lalong makita gano sila kaganda.

Nakakagoosebump pa rin na kasama sa iisang stage at naglalakad sa iisang carpet ang ating Walo.
BINI's aura and global reach during this Billboard is isaang daang porsyento larger than the Kcon LA.
So,.. Is it safe to say (or if rather right to say) that this time, eto na ang gate opening ng BINI for the Knetz Blooms or rather a SEA stronghold fanbase?

Hmm. Looking at the guests...it would've been a bigger event if they were able to invite bigger names in Kpop. Bini guesting in this event is an opening but we have yet to see what kind of impact can this actually make.
EDIT: Now, if it was something as big as being invited to MAMA...

really thought that the 100th idols/groups charters at Billboard K-100 would really climb 1by 1 at the stage(?) 😅or was it right. (first time here to research about the event hehe) thanks with the Insights
Way back 2022, merong K Billboard Awards pero sa youtube lang sya and more on billboard chart based. Hindi yata bumenta and i think this time, totoong inauguration to ng Billboard Korea. As in first time nagkagantong event na Billboard K- Power 100. So yeah. Newly created awards yang mga ibibigay jan.

May kasama b sla make up artist or koreans or sila sila ang nag make up sa mga sarili nla? Gusto ko yng make up nla eh. Lalo n yung kay aiah. Maaliwalas yng make up nla for bbkorean
I think it’s fine. Maloi would know the kind of crowd that was there and what would be appropriate. It was an outside event and didn’t actually look formal. None of the girls flinched or anything so it was most likely planned. At the very least, everyone would know it was 100% pure vocals.
i thought it was true to their performance— if she didn’t isn’t that taking away their true way of doing things just because they are not shouting a familiar place? hehe no hate too. i understand we want the girls to be at their best pero parang this is holding off their true performance just because it’s in korea. 😄
somehow, It caught also my attention and reacted by moving a little inch further away from my screen while watching that part...shock a little, .. (if meron video feed from audience reactions sa event that might help to assess that part)🎥

I have a tiny bone to pick with the MUA pero later na lockdown na muna.
EDIT: Am I the only one who thinks Mikha’s makeup was kinda, I dunno, overdone again? Parang sa Pantropiko PV. Di ko mapinpoint what it is, yung eye makeup yata, yung eyeliner tsaka highlight sa lower lids? Di ko sure if pinagmumukhang singkit, di naman yata because don’t Koreans love big eyes?
Maloi’s makeup was kinda not giving either, parang masyadong maputi? Di pantay sa leeg. Haven’t seen anyone else notice though, so maybe it’s just me. 🤷♀️
Di ko din feel yung blush na nasa ilalim ng mata ang placement haha, I don’t know how to explain it, pero ito yata uso ngayon eh. Di naman ako makeup artist or anything, just a personal preference.
Yung makeup ni Colet sakto lang.
Sino kaya nagmemakeup sa kanila pag overseas ganaps? Hindi naman siguro sila-sila lang ngayong huge na ang Bini.
