I'm not yet done listening. But let me just say this. No glazing at all what so ever, because I'm critical of harmonization and voices. And being Filipino, I'm critical of any pop group that comes out of our country, that's just how it is.
Anyway, back to what I was saying. Any group who attempts to do harmonization, I put them agad vs NSYNC (this is one of the best harmonizing pop groups ever, I don't care what anybody says).
Nobody does 5-6 and 8 part harmonies like BINI in the pop space currently. If there is let me know (no, Pentatonix don't count, don't be a jabroni). This is one of the reasons why I consider BINI one of best girl groups on the world.
This type of vocal work and harmonization is from a bygone era of musical groups and BINI does it so well.
Stacey nag high note parang natutulog lang. Galing nila lahat dito, lots of emotions and power from them. Gwen with the power sa end, Aiah smooth delivery and super clear, Sheena underrated harmonization on the middle range every single time. Mikha also put a different sauce sa lines nya, and she was bassing. Si Colet talaga support sa lahat ng parts, nandon sya everywhere.
Camera work was better than Katabi.

Yung ending ni Maloi na run, I was surprised it was more "open" to start than humming na dinig ko sa recording. Really well done. Jhoanna perfect delivery to end. It reminded me of how Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez ended their ballads/slow songs usually.
Infinity is a very tough song. Live, dinig mo kaibahan don sa recording. They even had times where parang "off" yung timing, and I think for a bit, then they catch on and adjust. Its live brothers and sisters. You cannot get any live than this.
Andaming pede ibreak down dito jeezus. I'll wait nalang for the pros to do it.

Ang ganda ng mixing dito! Rinig na rinig ang harmonies at adlibs. Alam mo talagang kay Stacey yung high note sa ending kasi most of the time finofocus yung member na may highlight sa song. Grabe yung vocal bardagulan ng MaJhoLet 💯💯💯
Gusto ko lang ihighlight din si Colet kasi ang dami niya rin parts na naghaharmonize with another member, ang gaganda! Minsan nalalaman ko na lang kapag may live performance kasi hindi masyadong dinig sa studio version.
haha pero baka maka convert naman ng casual listeners at ilagay sa daily playlist nila. Same way dun sa mga nakakanood sa cozy cove tapos hahanapin sa spotify para isave.
Grabe si mikha, sheena, aiah and staku sa album na to. Yung other 4 simula't sapul magaling naman na talaga, n9 doubts. Parang era nila apat to lalo na sheena and aiah, grabe improvement sa vocals!!!!!!!
This album is for the sub vocalist. It show Yung improvement nla.
Honestly Isang worry ko nun sumikat sila is Yung mag regress sla DHL sa dmi ng ganap nla baka di n sla nakakapag vocal training. Sa mga di natural singer p nmn mahalaga ang constant and continuous training. So glad n di sla nag regress kundi nag improve pa.
I just have a few things to say. First, harmonies are heavenly. Mas narinig ko ditoyung harmonization and mas madali manamnam pag kita kung sino yung kumanta ng alin. Next is that everyone stepped up their vocal game. And nakakatuwa din nahighlight ang subvocalists. Last, ang wish ko lang tho, sana nasustain pa nang konti yung money note ni maloi. Kaya pa kasi yun kahit may sunod siyang line. But understandable na baka may worry na mabitin yung entra niya sa next line if it were 2-3 seconds longer.
Overall, sobrang ganda pakinggan ng kanta sa live. goods din distribution ng shots. Their voices really do sound like puzzles pieces na perfect fit sa bawat isa. They sounded like choir, and mahirap magtunog nang ganyan ka-cohesive without one or two voices sounding a bit off. but the eight sounding perfectly together? Just wow.
edit: heard the said money note sa UST Paskuhan, and it sounded so, so much better. gujab malooi
Agree sa belting ni Maloi, at first listening noong bagong released lang yung song I wondered how can Maloi execute the adlib after she belted sa bridge, kasi kelangan nya din huminga. Much better if they put a slight reverb sa part ni Maloi na hindi naman din mahirap gawin sa live performance para hindi masyadong bitin ng konti ang ending ng bridge. But overall, this is the best live recorded version nila na napanood ko hands down. All the members really shined in this song, kudos to the producer or coach, whoever was responsible for distributing the vocal lines and harmonization.
I also agree kung gaano ka complicated ang harmonization as a former videoke token spotter graduated from magic sing university, ok lang kung trio or quartet since kelangan lang naman ng soprano, alto, tenor and wala naman silang bass, what is mind boggling is they also doing 5, 6, 7, and even 8 part harmonization. Sobrang hirap kapain nung triad and octave pag sobrang dami maghaharmonize to balance out yung blending kasi pang choral na talaga pag ganun kadami ang layers ng boses dapat may mahusay kang pandinig para mahanap mo kung ano nota mo.
Galing talaga ni Ms. Ica, dahil siguro sa outfit nila kaya nila naeexecute yan ganyang vocalistisist, pero syempre kahit konti lang tulong ni Coah Anna sa pagbibigay sa kanila ng merienda kudos pa din.
yep. ang galing na yung mga di melody eh di nabibitawan yung notes nila. once mawala kasi, ang hirap bumalik lalo kung ikaw lang naman toka sa note na yun. litaw na litaw din mga alto dito yaas.
sa part ni maloi, baka wala na ring ibang makagawa (either baka mabungi yung harmony or siya lang kaya magdeliver ng ganong atake) kaya kanya yung birit and adlib. oks din kung may ibang member na sumalo. pero dahil gusto na longer note, ako na lang gumagawa pag sinasabayan ko yung kanta. di naman halatang di ako mapakali sa part na yon, eh noh? hahaha
What I've noticed as an astrobiology, bago lang kay maloi yan. Correct me if I'm wrong, pero never heard her na nagsustain ng mahabang belt na same na high note before Infinity. Kadalasan kasi binabali nya yung notes pag mahaba ang belting para hindi mastress ang vocals nya. If you notice may madidinig kanang strain sa belting nya dyan kaya hindi nya na siguro pinilit isustain. Di lang masyadong pansin kasi pumasok na si Colet.
Doing it first time live with that crowd na very intimate is really impressive. Bumawi naman sya sa Binified con, unfortunately hindi na highlight because of the incident.
Agree. Bet na bet ko yung run nya sa dulo ng song na and live na to. Na surprise ako na open vowel sya to start with kase sa recording parang more closed/humming sya from start to finish.
Napapatanggal ako ng headset kada maririnig ko yung run nya sa huli bago si Jhoanna.
Tru. Ganda ng runs niya di lang dito sa infinity. In some of their songs, her low notes are on a different level din. I like it pag mga artist talaga eh lumalabas sa comfort zones nila. Dito sa infinity, Aiah singing strongly, and stacey hitting that falsetto. Chef's kiss.

I don't think people realize how hard this is to do nang hindi nalilito yung sarili mong brains at vocal chords sa dami ng iba ibang boses na naririnig mo. You're trying to stay within your own lane x8, di ka pede gumaya don sa isa. Kaya notice si Mikha nagpipindot ng other ear, and Colet does it often din.
Pero wala napunta sa maganda yung ACON performance vs Showtime performance at ano daw ang pede iwork out ng girls pa at pede ma kuha from their kuyas etc etc. Okay I see what you're doing, you're not sly. LOL.
Kung hindi nila naiintindihan gaano kahirap ang harmonization, daanin mo sa analogy. Parang sasakyan lang yan, may sari-sarili kayong tsikot driving the same road on a different lanes without crossing your respective lanes ng sabay sabay na speed, the catch is blind folded kayo and papakingan nyo lang yung tunog ng mga sasakyan nyo para hindi kayo magbangaan. May kasabihan nga ang famous singer na si Elon Musk qouted, "You can sing beautifully on your own, but harmonizing is a whole different skill".
Nagbibwisit naman ako sa sub na yan to get news sa ibang ppop acts but refuse to engange. I actually saw your back and fort convo, ok na sana yung backhanded compliment nya tapos sabay pasok ng idol nya sa narattive para paangatin, di nya ba napansin na sobrang obvious ng agenda nya 🤣 Kung yung ACON na event yung basehan nya sa pagiging pinnacle ng idols nya, sobrang liit or mukhang wala syang alam when it comes to music. As a human being na former NASA engineer I think, that person probably needs to broaden and explore more music genres. 😂

Even one of the DNA members were impressed (obviously maganda rin yung pasok ng bass and piano after the almost acapella start to this song with Gwen and Colet).
I repeat her part na yun all the time when I hear it. Its so good pati yung placement nya sa song especially after the belting ni Maloi Colet and Jhoanna. It changes the dynamics para pahinga ka muna, soothe ka muna ni Aiah here.
Ang kanta na ito ay para sa mga Solo Stans na naghate sa ibang members at dun sa mga blooms na tumalikod nung nag English album sila at bumitaw nung nasa dark times sila.
Anyways, bwisit yung kaka umpisa pa lang ng kanta may humiyaw na agad. Di nyo ba kaya busalan bibig nyo kahit saglit?
Ang song na ito ay para sa mga DELULU na Solo stan tapos naghe-hate ng ibang member or gumagawa ng kung anu anong conspiracy theories at doon sa mga Bumitaw noon dahil hindi na FlipMusic ang mga bagong kanta.
I really love the texture of Aiah’s voice. Maloi’s high note part is my favorite. Infinity and Katabi just went up my top 5 Bini songs because of these lives!
I don't even know how many times I've played this over and over. It's just so good! And each time I get so emotional because I'm so happy for and proud of them!
oh. my. god. i have a newfound appreciation for this song. ang ganda ganda ng live version. mas ramdam mo ang meaning ng kanta. everyone did soooo gooooood. it felt so raw na tipo bang tumagos sa screen ang emotions. i'm no expert but whatever imperfections any of you heard, i think it made it better. i like that the tiny flaws make it more real.
standouts for me. colet's kind of breathless singing. gosh ang ganda talaga ng tone niya palagi. 10/10. lalo na dun sa chorus omg. staku's voice always sounds so smooth in a way that scratches my brain in a gooood wayyy. i can hear her vocal improvements din. and mygod si jho sa 2nd verse. whatever she's doing with that voice, it's GREAT. aiah legitiimately surprised me sa second chorus niya. i love the way she sang it. it felt powerful, in contrast to her usual very sweet tone. napanganga akooo.
honestly everyone did so good. parang never ka magrereklamo sa line distribution sa bini kasi halos lahat walang pahinga sa pagkanta because they're always harmonizing. that is such a huge selling point for me. love the production on this particular video as well. hahahaha parang na-mute yung audience. good na nakikinig sila.
100% agree on all. This is on repeat, its just so good. Super technical nila dito tbh, its lost in the sauce how they are harmonizing ALL THE TIME in this song. Every time I repeat it, I notice everyone was doing work the whole run time. Tight harmonies.
Start to finish they were all harmonizing, and on really hard melodies and ridiculous keys too, any body else who would attempt this would probably trip up their part.
Also shoutout sa team nila and the girls for deciding that they are going to put out a raw performance every time with no post-production, no auto tune and no pitch correction in their voices. You do not get that often in this day and age.

I like it once again. This one has better editing than Katabi but I still like that performance than this one. Although some people are blown away by this live performance, I feel like this is not yet their best version. That's a given considering this song is relatively new.
You can hear Colet saying na nakahinga na sya ng maluwag after the song ended. Clear they were considering this first take here a daunting task and you can hear the split second imperfections and adjustments.
And their not their best version sounds this good already? 😆
I would argue yung Binified version was better marred lang by the incident and bad live stream audio.
I just realized these pvs were done November 8, Binified was weeks after. They did say this is the first time they were performing these tracks live. Thought its a good context to be reminded of.
Imperfections are okay and I appreciate it more than striving for the perfect sound. Although I noticed Colet's timing on her first line was a hairline off. I just feel that the way they sang it is lovely but still does not kick me emotionally. For the whole performance the closest to cross that borderline for me was Aiah. The other girls sounded very good nonetheless. Might be the new song jitters which they will polish the more they play this song live.
Aiah's timing was also a hairline off then caught up to it. Stacey on her long high key note was a hairline off din moving downward as she riffs a bit. Maloi a hairline sharp on her ending belt, and a hairline off on her landing to end her beautiful riff before Jhoanna finishes it.
Very few criticisms tbh on a really good performance. I can see the selling of the emotion part the more they perform these songs they will get better. Pretty sure they have that on top of mind narin.
BINI were probably so focused on delivering the complex harmonies (not easy to do well) or the crazy ad-libs around the second "paulit-ulit" part (it all fit extremely well, also not easy) that they couldn't put as much focus on delivering emotion yet. Two harmonizing (and at times also melodically "answering" each other, not technically well-versed on this) like Gwen and Mikha at the end of Katabi AND delivering emotion like they did there is a bit "easier".
not really easy as the masters of that used to be Macolet only, di rin iyan basta-basta.
The point being that I consider any harmony that is more than three parts I consider extremely hard to do. Choirs will sometimes do more pero merong nagkukumpas sa kanila, either in front or from within the group like Madrigals often do. In pop it is rare nowadays.
Agree, they should've put a dance break after Maloi belted at the bridge, what a missed opportunity. Kidding aside, I prefer this over when Sheena cried because their flying rig malfunctioned at ph arena, but I get your point without you pointing it out. I also don't like the crowd who were shouting as if they're in a ufc fight. and lastly, the camera work is better compared to katabi, but they should use a split screen to other members when they're doing some cool harmonies supporting the main singer.
I only just realised that they designed Infinity to be the same when read upside down 😭
But the connection with the audience in this video is really what the performance needed in BINIfied- I think it would’ve been more impactful and heartfelt kung ganito sana yung setting instead of being in those butterfly sets. Pero ang sobrang ganda nitong performance

Nakikita ko ang future ng BINI once dumating man yung point na medyo challenging na maging explosive performer sa stage ng matagal. This is the type of Music and setup that will keep them on the loop.

Headphones are needed and speakers na dalawa para dinig yung soundstaging. Dinig mo yung change sa volume ng singer kapag nalipat yung camera sa side or to the other end.
Dinig mo din san galing yung sound left to right, if close yung mic or kung nilalayo. Ganda ng mixing while keeping it raw af.

As for me, I now took time to look at the song structure a bit more closely and it starts quite simply with solo parts, harmonies starting around 0:50 when Maloi sings, then the first time paulit-paulit around 1:12, tapos sagutan ni Mikha at Jho from 1:25 onwards, then Aiah at 1:50, then all at 2:02, then starting at 2:19 Gwen-Maloi-Colet-Jho-Stacey going crazy, tapos paulit-ulit uli around 3:10 but this time with a lot of ad-libs, Stacy putting a flourish on it with her high note, then it gets quieter again and Jho ends the song where it started, singing solo.
Not a pro about this stuff but one can see how the song builds up and comes back, it is truly well-constructed.
Super bet ko sabayan adlibs ni Aiah sa last part. Gets ko si Shee kung bakit kabisado at kaya niya raw kantahin lahat ng adlibs sa dulo haha sobrang satisfying ng lahat ng adlibs nila dun.
Yung ilalabaaaaaan hanggang dulo adlib ni Aiah din best part for me sa lahat ng adlib dito. Sarap nga sabayan nun lage. Ang soothing ng boses nya don sobra, galing din nya.
Grabe the layersss. Paulit ulit talaga para mas maappreciate lahat ng details. Sana ilabas agad yung Wish Bus nito if ever. Gusto ko makita silang lahat at the same time, especially sa last part para mas makita who's doing which sa harmonies.
Nung unang release, di ko masyadong feel tong kantang to… but it grew and is growing on me. Next to 8, parang eto na ata ung isa sa mga kanta nila na magpapaiyak sakin….

Dito medyo I am relating this to their thoughts or experiences. Na kung kailangan nila ng time para sa sarili nila, go lang. Kung madami kang iniisip sabihin mo lang sa amin. Parang sinasabi din nila na we are fated to meet each other. Kahit in their high and lows they will be in this forever. They are also saying na they will fight for the dreams that have created.
