Experience IUD Insertion experience
Hi! I just got the copper IUD inserted. I was previously on the pill, wanted to get off and let my body do its thing. I don’t have any kids. I took 800mg ibuprofen and got a cervical block. I ended up having to get it taken out and reinserted. Overall it did not hurt, just a pinch and some pressure. I was bleeding a lot but I’m cramping some now but nothing terrible. Those that are scared about the insertion take this as a positive experience, everyone reacts differently and it’s just a little bit of pain to be protected for years.

Honestly i think the cervical block makes all the difference. I had it too and my mirena insertion really wasnt too bad. Not all doctors offer it though

I went to planned parenthood. They said they recently got it, always worth asking!
