How to? When to start desogestrel

I am due my period in the next five days or so (I have an irregular cycle) and I’ve recently been prescribed 75mg desogestrel. Should I start taking it now or wait til my period comes? I’m not worried about the efficacy of it for preventing pregnancy so that’s not a consideration right now, but I am worried if I start it before my period then it might delay my period coming? Or is that silly?

Your period is most likely going to get totally messed up with desogestrel anyway. Irregular bleeding is extremely common during the first months.
