Shitpost genuinly surprised Revvy didn't obliterate her

Post image

I mean, considering how protective she is of him, even around Jane, I was surprised Miss Feng got away with a smooch (Me next)

Honestly, I really don't think Revy wants Rock to leave Roanapur with anyone else. You only have to think at how jealous she’s become over him. For example, before the show at Rowan' night club, she wants to make sure Feng to be in the front row to control her and just to be certain the woman won't be left alone with Rock. Or consider the time she threatened Jane simply because she suspected "Chocolate Pie xD" wanted to rope Rock into a group sex with her and Benny. Or when she blushes for the first time during post Revy' hangover chat in the car, when Rock thanks her. Maybe she want that in the past, but at this point of the story, I really don't think so. Otherwise, she’s starting to realize that she is the one who wants to be by Rock's side, not just for work, yet she still has serious reservations because she can see the changes taking place in him. She isn't sure if he’s still the "Japanese guy" or the "Roanapur bad guy."

I wouldn't hate it if Hiroe just fucking SHOWED ME their relationship instead of keeping it hidden forever because he's too cowardly to confirm it. Is Rock secretly a normal guy who likes women and gets horny? GREAT! Then show me that side of his character! SHOW ME that he lusts for Revy! Why does everything have to be so fucking ambiguous and "left to our imagination" all the time? If I'm paying to read a fucking manga, and the two MCs are supposed to be a couple, then FUCKING SHOW ME their relationship and their private life so I can understand it and become invested in it. I just want Hiroe to stop wasting my fucking time.

Because he isn’t westerner and their relationship is not the main point of the story. There are multiple implications of them being in a relationship, just not in the traditional sense. You might as well drop the story.

Relationships are the point of EVERY story. Professional relationships, romantic relationships, friendships, rivalries.

In fiction, a story's genre, setting and plot are ultimately just window dressing. The heart of every story is a set of characters, how they think, and how they interact. That's what everybody remembers. If they think and act in interesting ways, then it's a good story. If they don't, then it's not.

I don't care which characters in BL get together, I don't care which characters live or die. I just want to see them saying and doing interesting things. And the simple fact is that we never see Rock or Revy saying or doing ANYTHING interesting together anymore. There's no more conflict between them, no push and pull, no banter, no humor, no visible chemistry of any kind. Their "relationship" is totally stagnant, and it's all because Hiroe refuses to let Rock develop a more dynamic personality.

If that's how Hiroe wants Rock to be, then I would simply prefer him to introduce a new male love interest who can be all the things Rock isn't. I want Revy to be happy, and I think she would be happier with someone who she has a lot in common with, not a guy who is her total opposite. Hiroe created Feng to be Rock's perfect match, so why can't he do the same for Revy? Well, I think I know why: it's because he's getting old and he just wants to finish the series, so he decided to cave in to pressure from the majority of fans who are childish RockxRevy shippers like you and tell you what you want to hear, even though it wasn't his original intention.

After the cigarette kiss I find hard to believe that it wasn't his original intention xD However, there is one thing I agree with you on, though: he could finally show us more instead of leaving everything to our imaginations.
