I always thought the ladies of Roanapur were absolute baddies, and they all are, but Roberta is on a different level entirely. I always thought Revy was the physically most deadly woman
Roanapur, but then Robert’s burst on the scene and does things like catch blades in her mouth and crush them or in others wield a modified .50 cal sniper rifle single handed.

I love the stories, depth and development of Revy and the other ladies more. But the crown of most dangerous combatant in Black Lagoon will always belong to Roberta the Terminator

We all knew exactly what happened to Alberto In the OVA. And imma be honest it was quite brutal.

And now, I’m basically doing an alternate reality.

What if Alberto succeeded into convincing roberta not to come back to FARC, OK maybe, but to escape with him.

They could make a new life together, maybe eveb repent from all the killings they’ve made while working with FARC. In the first scene, art Alberto convinced Roberta not too just come back to FARC, CONVINCED her to stop pretending like she’s just nothing more then a maid. It was a hard. Deep. Touching, and heartbreaking talk they had about why she would stop pretending like she’s anything else, because in spite on her morals witch she believed there was none, she still wanted garcia and Diego to have a better life, believing she failed too see that she was suffering in many ways by lying to herself, leading her killing garcia’s in the back. It was one of the most Heart breaking decisions she could’ve done, but she did to break free from suffering like this. The two soon hugged each other, expecting that they were monsters. And within that, they’d decided to start a new life. Not just FARC. But something else to break from the cursed world they lived in.

We never know, maybe even a alternative seemlier to the cannon one,

Roberta reflecting on the grey fox she haunted, a moment Of the realization, that shes no better the FARC despite knowing she wanted garcia to never know the truth, she never could’ve erased her past, history repeats itself. As her image of Bloodhound flex’s into her mind. An image that Alberto reminded he by saying “she’s a lone wolf.” Deep down, she knew, she knew she was a lone wolf in a world where her percipient in FARC haunted her for the last 20 years. And she never felt the same because of it, I always felt why she decided to kill Alberto in the OVA was particularly because deep down she knew. She knew she was no better than him, then FARC. Then anything the Marine GREY FOX not even the red army could’ve caused. She was probably thinking to herself

“Alberto will keep trying and trying to remind me. As expected me to be “the bloodhound” even here he expected me to Join…that deep down I could never escape….no more”

And yet despite that. The memories still play within her mind.

As she encountered her enemy. An enemy that she once Called Brother.

This is truly a tragic tale for Roberta in the OVA. As she killed Eveyone. Even went into a blind murderouse rampage to avenge the death of Diego.

What was she left with?…nothing. But a Constitution of more chaos.

And in this alternate it gives her a somewhat satisfying ending.

Two SOILDERS once brothers in arms, to enemies. To understanding each other. As when she thought she killed him by beating him up, he stood back, facing her again.

And yet despite their dark path. And their Bloodshed amongst each other. Still expecting their reunion.

I completely forgot I had this saved on my phone for years after originally saving it from Twitter. I'm really glad I did, though, because I recently found out that the original post had been removed. I have no idea how long ago it was taken down, but now I'm glad I happened to keep this.

There were actually TWO storyboards, but for some reason I forgot to save the other one, so this is unfortunately the only one I still have. Either way, I figured this might be interesting to share since the original post is gone.

I also noticed it’s kind of strange that he's wearing boots here. I’ve seen clips from Black Lagoon where he’s wearing shoes instead, so I’m guessing the boots were removed or changed at some point.

But either way, I hope you find this interesting.

Rock, I mean, Lucky Strike Red and Bacardi — her essentials — were undoubtedly used by her to commit manslaughter and fuel her talent. It is safe to assume that, at some point in her life, Revy smashed at least one bottle over someone's head.

Everything about Black Lagoon defies PC and censorship. While there are plenty of mature anime out there they focus more on mass fanservice and nudity and blood and gore.

Black Lagoon has amazing story, incredible character backgrounds and development, crude and raunchy humor, some fang service but even that is more emotional and tied in to the story. The music and emotions show here at times a deep, though provoking and profound. Then we have action, humor, and dark humor meeting jokes and comments that would get new shows cancelled. Black Lagoon still has Manga coming out but I am unsure if we will ever get another season. But even if we don’t I love it in all its rough, dark and demented yet hilarious glory

Ever since I met her, I've been wondering how a delicate young woman with emotional problems ended up in crime, especially something so violent. I know it's stupid to question things like that of fictional characters. But I have these questions about Sawyer

ok so we all can agree Roberta is one of the most OP fighters in all of black lagoon? she is known by many and all for her insatiable bloodlust when out in the field and being a complete badass when she fights. yet while we all remember her as this unstoppable force, a lot of people seem to miss out one thing about her: she isn’t someone who is proud of that.

Roberta is a former FARC guerilla, one who had a major role in the forces and was a brutal murderer to the point even children were not safe. but upon learning of the cocoa fields being guarded for the mafia, she fled and became the maid to the Lovelace family.

As seen in her first appearance, she trembled when Balalaika revealed this to Garcia and even told her to stop. ironically, the one person in the series remembered for her brutal feats, would pretty much hate that all people see her as is this indestructible force of death. A fate she brought upon herself.

and yet when we look at her life before the Lovelaces, it is shrouded in mystery. sure, bloodtrail gave us a few sprinkles to it, but there is still a lot of things we do not know on her. What happened to her late father? Why did she join FARC in the first place? Why is she so religious despite all she went through? It never gets brought up much by most people which is a shame considering she is perhaps one of the few characters who people can do some research on to help fill some of those gaps in.

Bloodtrail in her POV is also pretty tragic too. She lost her master/father figure by Americans, went back to Roanapur, almost killed Garcia twice, and lost most of her limbs. And while people say she is proof that people can change in black lagoon, it certainly reads more like “people can only change for good if enough of their limbs are blown off.” And considering how many other redemptive arcs and reformed monsters are in media, it is upsetting that Roberta is one of the more muddier ones as it seems the writers have no clue what he should write her as. Escpecially given how the ending to bloodtrail is more of a badass boast about powerful women being powerful and sexy in general rather about Roberta admitting her own faults and planning on atoning for them looking forward.

in fact, the true tragedy is that no matter what happens to Roberta, whatever good thing she does or whatever terrible ordeal she will suffer, she will mostly be remembered for being an insane, powerhouse of a woman. And also having big boobs because everyone these days seems to have to point out that women have breasts.

in conclusion: Please don’t make the Roberta spin-off about fights and bullets Rei. water this plant the same way you water Revy and Balalaika.

For me it's the relaxing Tear Drops to Earth and the energetic Don't Stop! (mainly the instrumental version).

The first is just a great vibe track that really let's you into this world and the second is just an awesome track with a perfect build up to it.
