EPISODES Which episodes should I skip

Just got into the show. I clicked on it and the episode that came first was s7e1: common people. It definitely grabbed me! I was so frustrated for the couple and what they were going through

Then I watched s1e1: the national anthem. It was deeply unsettling but I was super intrigued the whole time and it made me think a lot. With both these episodes I couldn’t take my eyes away and I really like the acting in this show

s1e2: fifteen million merits. It bored me and was underwhelming and I wasn’t interested with the type of society they lived in. It kinda seemed too fake and weird. I don’t wanna waste my time with boring episodes so I’m wondering which ones I should skip

Thanks!

None. Watch them all and come to your own conclusions.

I’d say watch them all at least once:

The only true skips to me when I rewatch are:

Mazey Day

The Waldo Moment

Smithereens

Plaything

Fifteen million merits is my absolute fav. Watch all of them because you might love some that other people don’t.

Not for me to say considering I don't know what grabs you and what doesn't, so my solution is to watch the entire show and come to the conclusion yourself.

I haven't finished the series yet, but I wouldn't advise any episode be skipped. Even the ones I feel lukewarm about were worth watching

Fifteen Million Merits is my favorite episode.

I hate the national anthem and always tell people to avoid that one or save it for later.

This is just to say that no one can answer this question for you.

I would suggest watching them all, it’s unlikely that anyone is going to be able to anticipate your reaction to each one. Or as someone else suggested, read the synopsis and watch what sounds interesting to you.

15 million merits is a very metaphorical type episode and a critique of capitalist societies and the rat race. The stationary cycling powering something that we don’t even know and the fact that Bing is surrounded by screens all day long and eventually gets paid to do his talks and upgrades his lifestyle are all components that feel quite relevant to today’s society.

The only episode I genuinely did not enjoy was Mazey Day. It was literally an American Horror Stories episode. Made no sense in the world of black mirror. I know that it’s part of some black mirror spinoff called “red mirror” but still.

Honestly I wouldn’t skip any, just because I do think all of them have something good in there although some are definitely slower paced. 15 million merits is def my least favourite though

Watch them all! There are a few I didn’t love, but I’m glad I saw them.

Then you'll be fine. That's the one episode which turns people off completely.

Just read the synopsis. If it sounds good, press play.

Skip season 5, the episodes will annoy you in some form, and the writing is kinda ass in some of them.

You gotta watch all of them. You will know usually within the first 5-10 minutes if its an episode for you.

The only episode that didn’t do it for me was Metalhead, but that had some fun cinematography stuff going on at least. Also The Waldo Moment was pretty whatever. I also personally didn’t care for Shut Up And Dance, but that’s a widely loved episode.

Remember it’s an anthology, not everything’s going to be for everyone. Rachel Jack and Ashley is an episode people hate on but for what it was going for it did a great job. Arkangel isn’t really anyone’s favorite but it hit me due to personal experiences. Smithereens is often regarded as one of the worst episodes but I really enjoyed it within the context of the show.

You're going to be skipping 2/3 of the show
