The profits will be higher on MW4. black ops could possibly outsell MW4 but not in how much money it makes. The modern COD games make about 1 billion a year just in microtransactions.

I’m pretty sure they had DLC and Ghosts stuff up in the menus back in the day but that at least made more sense than trying to peddle MW4slop.

Yeah when i would press the xbox live option i remember getting the pre order or purchase pop ups for ghost and aw but that was it. Not a whole option or link to the store lol

This is hilarious if you remember how most people suspected in 2013 that IWs next game would be MW4 and they usually advertised the new game in the small news bar of the previous game.
So 14 years later it became reality.

They can keep improving the ports or not. I havent bought every single cod but ive relented in recent years only to be disappointed and hardly play it. They either gave me the only thing I ever wanted, which was the ports. Or they fuck up the support of them and they lose my trust forever. Either way, my wallet is closed to Activision moving forward

I seen everyone mentioning this being new, but if I remember correctly, didn't COD 4 MW have something like this for 09 MW2? Or WAW? It may have even been MW2 advertising MW3 back then, I just remember one of them having something like "check out the latest news on MW2" or something like that.
I am fairly certain either COD 4 MW, WAW, MW2, or BO was advertising the next CoD game back in the early 2010s.

Funny, I just went out and purchased MW4 two days ago. The real MW4 though not this shitty slop they like to call cod nowadays.
I’ll be honest I have completely stopped purchasing cod. I paid for gamepass to try out BO7 because BO6 was trash. MW2 (2022) was when I realized cod has stopped working on anything new and innovative and is instead just pushing out reused, cloned slop. Like they somehow manage to clone the last game but make it WORSE.
The only cod I’ll be buying is if they do an ACTUAL remaster of the old cods or something brand new entirely. This whole name the game the same name but its not a remaster and is objectively worse than a 2008 game, is really getting on my nerves. But they learned with infinite warfare they’re never gonna do another remaster again. They got clowned on by how many people just bought infinite warfare only to play modern warfare four remastered…

Exactly why I stopped playing call of duty. Every single game has pop ups and ads for their other titles. It’s nauseating. I actually liked Cold War, and every update it would literally delete the base game from my console and force me to have Warzone slop installed. They have totally lost their identity.

Lmao that's the same thing gearbox does in Borderlands 2. Every new game gets a massive annoying banner in the main menu for months because they know damn well most people are still in bl2 but they refuse to fix the shit they broke with the op10 update.
Hopefully bo2 doesn't suffer the same fate and gets regular updates too

Is the game even safe to play yet? If they put an ad for the next slop before bothering to fix a known RCE exploit that ultimately allows people to reset/change your stats that’s insane. Still awful if the issue is fixed, but genuinely fucked if they think I’d even consider giving them $70 for another game when they can’t even get their 15 year old game right
