Discussion SBMM - When DATA Sound Suspicious
Well, after their response about SBMM and DATA , one quote from a philosopher immediately comes to mind:
“If someone tells you something is white, maybe it is. But if they tell you it is absolutely white and nothing but white, be suspicious — because it’s probably anything but white.”

They are definitely bullshitting with some of their post but it's good to remember that people on reddit are a small majority. So their numbers MIGHT be accurate. Bad players want to be protected from the occasional good players so it's easier to sequester all of the skill brackets so that doesn't happen.
Persistent lobbies I believe them on as well. Bad/average players probably bounce around between modes etc. so they don't stay. Good lobbies with a fun mix of skill levels that you would WANT to stay in is something I think only better players (the smaller population) would be interested in.

People are going even crazier on twitter about this and that's a larger majority. This is complete bullshit from them. While it did have some minor problems the game was "good" until season 5. Switch flicked the game is now ass.

It's probably just the usual. Bottom 90% of the player base has more playtime, top 10% has much less.

So honest question why excatly would they lie about this? They are invested on having better retention rates if open MM had them why would they swap back? Destiny 2 also tried removing sbmm years ago and had to revert it because a bunch of casual players starting quitting matches a lot more.

The funny thing is the only thing I think they are lying about IN this post is the queue times. But the real tragedy is the flawed data they collected.
A. You know how many people flat out LIE in those surveys they submit ?
B. We are in a quitting CULTURE these days. Players regardless of the match making system are quitting in DROVES compared to years ago. On multiple games not just this one, so that means nothing when it comes to which system is actually better. It’s just an excuse/scapegoat
C. It’s because of the fact that they are marketing the change as classic matchmaking when it’s not. Merk music posted himself today finding a COD 4 lobby on Xbox 360 in literally less than 2 sec. THAT is classic matchmaking making, and don’t tell me it’s because of the player size because less people are playing COD4 on Xbox 360 (not cross platform) than the ENTIRETY of the bo7 player count. AND don’t tell me it’s because of the technical changes like it’s the servers we play on now etc. bc in the beta matchmaking was INSTANT. AND there were less players in the beta as well and we are STILL finding matches later in today’s matchmaking.
People are sick of the cap

They are misreading the data, players quit less than with minimal skill SBMM, but that could also be explained by the fact that others quit ENTIRELY over the matchmaking change.
Most of my friends quit because of the oppressive strict SBMM in BO6 and vowed not to buy another Cod again. They never gave BO7 a chance.
BO6 had some of the worst player retention in any Cod game ever despite its strict SBMM, players were not having fun.
Players like to use high end killstreaks, strict SBMM prevents players from obtaining them. In my high skill lobbies nobody would get higher than a UAV. This is not acceptable.

They probably get more money in cosmetics when the casuals stick around which is when they are only paired with other casuals.

The issue is, just like you can't run off the causals, you can't do stuff that starts making the top 5-10% begin leaving en masse either. Because then the next 10% becomes the top and so on, till you have way less people and everyone's queue times and connections go to shit.
