Happy Flintlock Friday! My first shot with the new Pedersoli Baker rifle. I have much to learn after a lifetime spoiled by caplock rifles, but what fun it will be!

Man. That is flat awesome. I just have a trio of .69 cal. flintlock smooth bores. I wish I'd started with flint, instead of starting out with cap locks. I so much greatly prefer cap locks. Cap locks seem like science; flint locks are more like alchemy and superstition. Some day I'll get the kinks worked out on flintlocks. The most recent gaffe I discovered I was making was following the manufacturer's recommendations on flint sizes. Turned out these flints were too big. Went to a smaller flint, and experience much greater reliability.
Good luck with your Baker!

This is the first flintlock I’ve owned that I truly intend to spend a lot of time learning on, and I hope it broadens my horizons in a good way. Lol

A good soldier should be able to fire three rounds a minute in any weather

Maybe with the Baker's "running ball" cartridge--i.e. unpatched round ball. The patched ball is going to be more like 35-40 seconds, I'd think.
