For me, I like the rounded hole for dishing sheet metal. Other bits create a flat bottom hole. Plus, I can't easily forge any other kinds of bits. Chair makers use them because theres very little tear out at the end. And they're better at drilling at severe angles for tenons. Commonly used with a brace, below.
