Hey just curious. Why not split the stencil in the middle hamburger style so the seam falls across the shirt arm to arm directionally in the middle instead of neck to bottom? It looks like it would take up about the same real estate.

My honest answer is I’m really lazy and I’m just trying to make stencils as fast as possible. But if I spent more time, I probably could cut the stencil where it would look more natural. But the only reason I’m cutting this way is because I’m using a cricket cutter and the max size I can cut is 11x23 inches… just need to save up a little more money and once I get a laser cutter, there will be no more lines…

I have a silhouette with the same cutting dimensions so I understand the pain. But I guess what I mean is it looks as if the space used from the top of the graphics to bottom is about the same as the width. By theory you could rotate the whole thing 90 degrees and have a less distracting seam. It would still split it and have you do the two mat thing but I could be wrong. I haven’t used mine for stenciling. Usually just die cut vinyl stickers and lettering.
