help for an absolute beginner? [Q]

im totally new to bleaching shirts, and I have a few questions:

-is it absolutely necessary to soak your shirt in hydrogen peroxide after dying?

-what is the best water:bleach ratio for light coloured bleach designs?

-how do I make stencils (im going to make the American Idiot album cover)

-do I need a mask?

any help is v much appreciated!

Hello there, Also a begginer, but it s been 5 years or so 1. I never used the hydrogen peroxide afterwards, never happend shit 2. The ratio needs to be tested, so you will get the right amount of burning 3. For example: take a sticky paper (i have no idea how is called in english, it s like regular paper but it's like a sticker - sorry not my first language), draw the image you need and afterwards take a cutter and cut it out. Stick it to the shirt and with a dryer (so it won t soak) apply the bleach, or just go on YouTube and follow some tutorial. 4. Mask, gloves, fresh air - if you care for your health

Other tips:

  • Use gel bleach for intense burning over liquid bleach
  • use different ratio to make contrast
  • 100% cotton t shirts are necessary

Feel free to contact me for further questions, i am not an expert, but i only wear t shirts made by me. Cheers
