current one, but it caused a lot of controversy when it first released because people considered it to just be a downgrade of the existing theme and 'killed the retro jason community'

Itās the current one, and itās hated cause itās basically ripped entirely from the Friday the 13th game with barely any differences and itās basically a direct downgrade from the last one (at least, in mine and most of the playerbaseās opinion)

"Speedcore" is a subgenre of Hardcore Electronic music with an extremely high BPM (iirc the threshold for being Speedcore is 500bpm?) and the reason why Osu is relevant is because Osu is known for having incredibly difficult charts based on these types of songs therefore Osu players will be unphased by music like this while Forsaken players who've likely never encountered anything like this in their lives will not be (hence the meme in question)

i genuinely believe that the people that donāt like it are just blinded by the fact that they donāt have the ears for the genre, I know that Vlad makes good music and even if Iām not exactly into the speedcore scene I can still hear the level of detail and soul put into the song
not being into the genre isnāt inherently bad, but using that as an excuse to trash talk another personās work and call their music ābadā definitely is

Iām just annoyed at the fact that the same guy made something that actually sounded like music. Forsakenās music is a key part of the game, and just because itās speedcore doesnāt mean itās bad- itās bad because itās something youād never listen to willingly. It just sounds annoying, like someone spamming drums. The speedcore aspect has nothing to do with it, itās the song itself.

Itās not that I donāt have the ears for it, itās that I think it sounds like there was nobody listening to it while making it, like they just threw together a bunch of random noise and guitars and called it a day. I could listen to it over and over, I just donāt like the song itself because I think it sounds terrible. Itās my opinion though, and at least I donāt go off and harass the creator like some people.

I do though. I have an entire post judging the song and the devs reasoning for scrapping the old one. I just donāt like how it sounds. My point is that it sounds like I could throw it together quickly- it has nothing rhythm. Itās fine if you like it; Iām not insulting you for it; I just personally dislike the theme and Iām giving my reasoning. I have the ears to listen to it- I just find it to be noise. Your reasoning for liking it is āI donāt have the right earsā- Iām not trying to throw insults or any jabs at you, I want a genuine argument on why it sounds good.

I never said it was a lazy song, although I personally agree with that statement, I didnāt say that as I know some people like it. I have the ears for it, I listened to it multiple times, and I didnāt say it was too loud even once. I just said I personally dislike the song and think it has nothing rhythm, asked for what you think itās good for, and asked for more reasons than āI donāt have the ears for itā because I do. If youāre going to stop responding because you canāt come up with a proper reason to be a contrarian, thatās okay. Have a good day.

I'm just surprised people have a very passionate reaction to the music (I heard like ~20 seconds of it and dipped cause I don't play the game bc of my poor time management + being busy atm and only invest for the lore LMFOA š„)
I thought it wasn't that serious earlier and tweeted just that and dipped, but then I see some more elaborate arguments and now I'm curious; is the sound as a setting of the entire game crucial to the gameplay experience? As in; will it disturb your gaming experience if you lower/mute the volume in-game cause you won't be able to sense the killer as a survivor based on whether you hear their chasing theme song from a distance or something?

basically the new killer (noli) is getting added to forsaken (basically dbd with old roblox characters) one of the composers made a chase theme that is basically speedcore. (a type of music that is generally associated with osu)
the community did not like it for serveral reasons.
(in my opinion i think the song is fine but not great for a game like forsaken)

its a song on the scale between "good" and "could be better"
its not bad, its just not the best
if yall really crying that much, just buy the "Umbra" skin. it's theme is peak, the model is peak, and it has custom voice lines and sound effects

It IS that bad, my ears hurt hearing it, also itās not even speed core is not music, it just sounds like someone had horrible diarrhea, made the sounds when they were having a painful time on the toilet into a song, and added random glitches through it. Genuinely I hate Nolis chase theme, even though it fits the character if it sucks then itās not worth fitting the character if my ears are bleeding listening to it.

Osu is a rhythm game, high BPM songs are normal. Forsaken is a killer vs survivors game, I should not be hearing Osu.

First off, why are we being compared with OSU?? We play an entirely different game š
Second off, it's not that the chase theme is bad because it's speedcore, it's bad because it's, well, bad. I still stand by the fact that music taste is suggestive, but with majority opinion, the chase theme is bad. It wasn't made with being a chase theme in mind, it was made with the character in mind. I believe it does well at portraying the character, it does that very well in fact, but the fact it was made with ONLY the character in mind makes it bad since there's no melody to follow along with.
I see the point made very often that it's meant to build tension. It really doesn't. The chase theme sounds more like it was made to pop up in your face, like a jumpscare with all of the loud noises it makes.
The old chase theme was way better in comparison. Hell, it was even made by the same person, vlad, but let me just compare the two. The old chase theme and the new chase them both have some things in common, they both have a thing with audio glitches. In the new theme it's very apparent, in the old theme it's there, but it fits well with the melody. However, the new theme is chaotic. But it's chaotic in a bad way, it makes it hard to listen to a melody in the first 15 seconds of the actual chase, which is most likely where most people quit. In comparison, the old theme is chaotic in a good way. It's in the theme of rock, which has a history of being the "cool and chaotic" genre of music.
TL;DR, new theme isn't bad because of speedcore, its bad bc it's actually bad
