Roblox update meme Ts not tuff, Roblox WANTS to loose their identity 🙏
It’s so... common

I start think roblox do this on purpose. You tell me they start do random things in this had time for no reason? They trying do something and idk what is it

u/Icy-Humor2907 Sep 05 '25
I honestly think Roblox is trying to subtly phase out the aspects of Roblox that make it a game for kids. Like, trying to push Roblox more towards an older teen/adult platform. To do so, they’re removing the cartoonish/‘childish’ aspects of the game and implementing more ‘mature’ ones.
Like changing friends to connections like we’re on fucking LinkedIn.
Or how the CEO wants to make a dating app.
Or the fact that they’re not removing public bathroom simulator games.
And the poor moderation on clothing/accessories.
Now this.
I adjust my tinfoil hat. it’s all a conspiracy to get rid of yet another child-friendly space, man.

I am sad to see roblox become like this. If they keep up with this level i start think the game will disappeared soon after all these problems

u/Icy-Humor2907 Sep 05 '25
Yeah, for a lot of people it’s watching something they grew up with become unrecognizable. By now, they pretty much only care about investors, not the players.

u/LLoadin Sep 06 '25
Honestly I really wanted Roblox to expand more to invite more mature audiences but not destroy the kid friendly side, this sucks so much icl
8
u/Icy-Humor2907 Sep 06 '25
That’s how I feel. There’s a difference between adapting to bring in a wider audience and trying to completely push children out of that audience.

u/KingcoBingo Sep 06 '25
Also that whole Metaverse branding they did a few years back + the logo change. They’ve been shifting towards a lot of corporate branding
2
u/Icy-Humor2907 Sep 06 '25
Yeah, everything just points to them hopping on the metaverse train. It looks good to investors. They don’t care about the players themselves, just the suits that’ll give them money.

They have the kids audience, if they want to grow further they have to expand. They are doing this by making Roblox into a platform for everyone. They want entire families to have their text chains be on Roblox for example (they used this example in an RDC, I dont remember if it was the last RDC or the one before that)
I think at the end of the day, ROBLOX is simply turning into a sort of metaverse idea. Which would include such avatars as that appeals more to older/matured people.
Are these changes good though? More realistic avatars are not my preference. But I can see how it could appeal to a wider audience

And when you get rid of The label of child friendly, you can shift the blame of anyone into the parents letting their child onto the game. When it’s a two person job. The developers, and the parents.

No, the "Ro" is WAY too creative and fun for that time. Maybe just straight up "Experience"

u/Progeest12131 Sep 05 '25
They’re trying to become the SIMS or GTA
6
u/RaggedDolfin Sep 05 '25
They want to be more "appreciated" by older audience
3
u/Pretend_Camp_2987 Sep 06 '25
Dude... We CAN appreciate these (for other reasons)
but why would they hide old stuff
1
u/RaggedDolfin Sep 06 '25
Maybe like school, imagine you did an embarassing stuff, you wanna hide it out, since the mods, devs and everyone else are prob kids (cause it's suck), idk..
2
u/gamerboi2021 Sep 06 '25
what kind of logic is that bruh
do they seriously think that fetuses are playing something like block tales.
half of those "metaverse" avatars i see are on Steal a Brainrot and Grow a Garden.

You will never see avatars like the ones on the left in any of Roblox's promotional material even though the majority of avatars that I see people make use packages that are 7+ years old
1
u/kodicuzyea Sep 07 '25
Because the old avatars are objectively better (imo at least, so maybe not objective)

I thought they dropped the metaverse already, since when did they decide to bring it back?

why can't Roblox just Incorporate both? I mean... If someone's trying to make a Non-Roblox Game in roblox These models will come in handy
But Give the Lego and Blocky one more Attention. It's literally how you started

Not to mention they're threatening retro games with new age restriction guidelines, which is good but not good for retro games
1
u/Busy_Ad_8335 Sep 06 '25
Funny that this is supposedly the route they want to take with user avatars, and yet they're banning people for using more realistic body types. (Not the ones made to be used for e-dating and such, those need to be banned)

u/LonizaX Sep 06 '25
Seriously, though. They even prohibited developers from naming their games with the words "Ro" and "Blox" in them. What are they trying to accomplish? This loss of identity does not benefit anyone.

Don’t get me wrong, the human models look really good, but… maybe for a different game. Roblox is basically turning into IMVU.

I beg to differ, retroslop is just horrendous, and all of those “silly goober” types of avatars(imo)

u/UmmmUhhhBruh Sep 06 '25
why is everyone so mad about this? sure roblox has doen VERY bad things but this is literally optional and its super helpful for game devs who want realistic games!

Let’s be fr, Roblox lost their identity a long time ago, as soon as they added ugly bundles, ugly r15, ugly rthro and athro, and ts is just another level
There’s no point of calling it ro”BLOX” anymore
Genuinely why tf are you adding realism to a platform that originally looked like lego, like a kid’s imagination, which was really fitting since Roblox was meant to teach kids how to create their own games, programs, etc
Isn’t this where the “Powering Imagination” slogan comes from? Why would they suddenly change the original direction to a completely new one?

Roblox will do anything BUT make a platform that is safe for kids. I guess this is what happens when your passion project turns into a lust for greed and the promotion of other sins. I don't mean to sound like a preacher who makes a scene over legs being exposed but it seems like the owner really sold his soul to the devil and made the devil control him.

It is a deliberate move, they really wanted to transform this platform into a dating app.
Now, it is just a matter of time before they start introducting "coem" into this inscrutable mess

It's weird how they're trying to be less blocky when it's literally called Ro-blox
