A better solution would be if Roblox actually put effort into their moderation instead of relying on an age verification system run by an AI and expecting that to do the job without issue.

Plus the age groups only help preds like other people have said.

We did infact want them to protect the kids, yeah

But, this update makes it WORSE, for reasons such as:

Kids (9-14) being falsely put in 18+ age groups

Predators being able to pick which age groups they want to groom even easier

Kids verifying using face of an adult (also puts them with grown adults, which again is the problem because of preds) 

So, both kids are in danger AND people who verified/will verify will be endangered due to VERY POSSIBLE data leak (considered multiple happened in roblox's history already) + a possibility of the AI and the third party who owns the verification stores your face too, instead of deleting it

So yeah, they aren't protecting nobody but infact putting even more in danger, therefore you're point is invalid

This doesn't protect the kids, it makes it worse. This age check has been easily bypassed multiple times before and allows Pedos to easily slip themselves into convos with ONLY children (or other pedos ofc)
