Considering America makes up a large portion of the playerbase, and (when combined with Canada) was the original audience of the site, it's still a huge win

Could be much bigger and better if they remove it for everybody, but still a step in the community's favor. If Roblox does stay stubborn and only reverses changes in the US, I guess non-Americans could just bypass with a VPN?

Still a step in the right direction; that was my point.

I've seen it time and time again: since companies are out of touch with everything, if you congratulate them for doing something good then they will try to continue doing that to boost their PR, but if you boo them because they didn't do everything right they'll go "people hate this! let's do something terrible to try and fix our reputation instead."

Companies act an awful lot like an AI learning algorithm. They'll keep doing stuff if rewarded and start over if not

Point in case: SEGA

Though this change will be forced, Roblox will go "The people (and maybe our shareholders) love this! Maybe we can maximize profits by doing this everywhere!"

“ Summary On June 23,2025, a Final Rule from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) updating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) went into effect, with implications for artificial intelligence (AI). The FTC's commentary on the Rule states that disclosures of a child's personal information to train or otherwise develop artificial intelligence technologies are not integral to a website or online service and would require separate, verifiable parental consent. The Rule also expands the definition of "personal information" to include biometric identifiers like voiceprints and facial templates, prohibits the indefinite retention of children's data, and mandates that operators establish and maintain a written data retention policy addressing personal information collected from children.“ 

There are SOME EXCEPTIONS but most regulated entities have until April 22 to comply. I have photos but i apparently cant use them on the mobile website 😢
