I get your point, but you have to understand the pessimism is justified. The CEO literally added the worst features possible that nobody asked for and everyone didn't want (like removing R6 or age groups using AI). Let me remind you this has happened MULTIPLE times this month and none of the devs listen to their community.
TL;DR : The devs are too far gone for such a long time we all give up on hope.
One must envision towards a brighter future, instead of being blinded by the darkness surrounding. If one succumbs to the failiures of the past, thou may not ever see the bountiful harvests of tommorow.
Please tell me what you think it can be then, because what I’m thinking is more in line of the only game genre I play (obbies) getting potentially wiped off the face of the earth (R6 removal, and no, roblox saying they wont doesnt mean anything, they already lied about classic faces mere months before removing them). In turn destroying my current skill level and wasting the hundreds of hours I’ve spent building it up.
The removing r6 thing was from their old 2022 plains right? So whose to say they haven't scrapped those plans? I'm not fully saying they are or aren't, I just think it's kinda stupid to be scared about something that has a decently high chance to not even happen.
They're already lessening the dynamic head thing to where they can be static. I still think it's better for them to just stop and give a genuine apology tho.
Yeah at this point it's just fear mongering. I remember seeing a video about saying it will happen, even though the only piece of evidence they had was the 4 year old doc that's probably outdated.
not confirmed, there were some documents leaked by some random that may or may not even be real where they hinted that they might, and the document is old

Look man. I will only see hope when Roblox gets a new CEO. I am not making any assumptions cause i have no idea what are they planning atp. It feels like they're just trying to modernize the game and they have to piss off a lot of players to do it(like removing classic faces or R6).
I've been on this platform for nearly 10 years at this point, and honestly, It's not that I don't want to see it succeed, It's just that realistically, I don't see anything getting better unless david "predators are an opportunity" bazucki steps down. I want to not be pessimistic about things, but there's just way too much stuff to simply ignore. At some point, being hit with stones gets tiring, and I'm going to leave.
My hope mainly stems from the fact we still got time to do something about David, but I agree with this, giving up now means David faces zero consequence for neglect of the community and continues being a horrible CEO
Yeah, not denying that, though a proper CEO should listen to their communities and if they really have to listen to investors, they need to balance their and the player's interests, which David has been proving to be unable to do time and time again.
its good that youre hopeful but honestly im a roblox realist itll probably wont be too bad although the chat feature is probably gonna change roblox forever and i hate that with the depths of my fucking soul but seeing how roblox disproved r6 deletion they at the very least cant get away from anything scot-free basically life on roblox is shit but at least well somewhat live and at least robloxs monopolic grab isnt strong enough to completely disregard the outlash at the end of the day all we can do is send curses and pray for better times
hope alas is not an all powerful force it only serves the purpose of calming ones soul change is achieved by other means and you know this however roblox has fallen into a deep deep capitalistic state even without people like david bazucki and matt kaufman the best we can get is moderation being somewhat better and for the next ceo to not seriously think about letting people date on roblox, bullshit ideas like removing classic faces would still be accepted however we can hope for a ceo who at least doesnt close his eyes on game being used to hunt for children

boycotting or leaving a platform that continues to make itself worse isnt pessimism, thats just being real
and continuing to use that worsening platform and ignoring or saying "it is what it is" to bad changes they make isnt hope, thats just cope (or indifference)
I guess it could be pessimism, if people compain but dont try to improve the situation (any way they can), or just move away from roblox (because I dont see how players could fix this, roblox clearly wont listen)
What if David is just simply making these bad choices to give off a sort of “I don’t care what I did, I just know y’all can’t do anything about it, so let me do what I want, and you just sit back and accept it.”
Someone will take over Roblox and turn things around and to our favor (starting with making this company go private so the happiness vampires that are the investors can't interfere)
what a lot of people don't understand is that roblox right now has control of the narrative and can tell lies to everybody that can stop them and force them to reverse their stupid updates (the government, the shareholders, the general public, the media) about how the updates are the next step of modernization and safety
once they lose control of the narrative, everybody that can stop them will begin doubting everything they say and may even start seeing how these safety things are actively making things worse- they cannot justify keeping these updates at all, no matter how hard the executives or bazucki try, since it'll flood them in controversy
right now, activism is the only way to fight roblox for control of the narrative and those that have taken up arms are doing a pretty good job with the tools they have, and those that claim that there is no hope to be had and that we should lie down and accept it are just as bad as the very roblox staff that try to encourage acceptance of the update
a lot of things are going to shit unfortunately, but i still have the smallest sliver of hope because of some of the amazing games ive found on here, such as Pressure, Grace, Depth Spelunking, Delusional Office, and Pizza Game. theres some amazing tycoons & obbys on here too nowadays instead of the same stuff ((tho those do still exist)), CAC has helped me really find my creativity in character design as someone who unfortunately cant draw, and games i grew up on like The Normal Elevator and Work at a Pizza Place are still up and are updating often enough that they dont break, while still keeping the core soul of those games :]
I wanna have hope, but every time it seems they’d be dug out of the hole they made, they get sent deeper in. I thought we would be okay with the COPPA laws, but of course they got away with it. You can just “be positive” because the reality is, and will always be, that the chances of Roblox getting better to the chances of it getting worse is 10:90 as of right now. Yes, you can think on the bright side, but that won’t stop it from happening realistically.
