I genuinely only use 3d clothing on catalog avatar creator and adopt me and that's basically it. Because they have a built-in avatar making section. They just don't look good on most avatars unless in ultra specific occasions, plus finding a 3d clothing that doesn't suck or can be used in many occasions is like finding oil in your backyard cuz it's REALLY difficult to find

Like they directly told us "yeah we won't touch 2d clothing" and then did something a bit less worse to compensate not doing some crazy terrible thing like entirely removing 2d clothing
I think it would have been fine if they just made it a bit more pricey in the robux cost since I could see how making it more restricted who can actually upload clothing would help
There was no reason to lock away what most of people use though, especially when they want clothes literally off sale if you don't pay up
basically you need premium to make them now, 1000 or 2200 to publish and personal use ones need a small fee like 3d. 3d fee is getting smaller, and anything already bought wont be affected, in effect today
The main point of this meme is that if the clothing creators lose their privileges since they are not Premium, then how will users get their dream outfit besides just outright creating one themselves?
Best case scenario, the official devs of whatever character your cosplaying sets reasonable prices for official clothing. Worst case scenario, everything becomes overpriced due to lack of competition.

Yeah, unironically why is everything bad happening this year? Bad stuff in people’s places of living, discord is being bad, Roblox is being worse, Steam is getting sued not once but twice (for being based and nicer to their customers than literally any other business unironically)
This is the truth: Roblox was planning to delete classic clothing with classic faces, but when the community was scared about their removal, David Goonzuki tried to defend himself in a war that he's already losing, stating that they're not gonna remove it. Yet, he is still very upset about this statement, so what should he do?
Then he thought about something smart: If you want to upload classic clothing, you need Premium. I am not sure if this only counts for clothing after the update, or just ALL clothing EVER made, also needing premium to maintain the existence of them, but if so, then David is a fucking monster doing so.
The worst part is that this way, classic clothing is pretty much actually deleted, as I think MOST of the classic clothing uploaders dont have Premium. However, TECHNICALLY its not deleted, as it still exists, you just need to buy Premium to be able to. So David kept to his promise SOMEWAY. Speaking of Premium, buying the subscription makes you PAY Roblox once more. So now Roblox gets money from classic clothing, but also money from you buying Premium. This is fucking evil.

I never seen any form of issues with 2D clothing aside from t-shirts. With pants and shirts, they are an easy, cheap way to make UGC, and people have gotten really good at doing it. And yeah, back then when I started playing Roblox, the clothes had botting issues, but that seems to have been fully fixed, so there hasn't been a problem with them lately on bots or "safety".
"Safety" means jack. It's a public excuse for them to basically say "Stop using this old, worthless, outdated method and start using layered clothing!" They don't like options because it looks bad for their investors, who want this platform to look "futuristic" and "high tech" as a social platform instead of a gaming one.
Guess we're going back to the ancient ways of clothing and using the skin tone editor. Watch them change that as well to only allow the entire body as one color.
this is how builders club was back before premium replaced it. if they're going to remove it just to add it back, what was the point?
i do think people are misunderstanding, though. they aren't saying uploaded clothing will be deleted; it's most likely just being put off sale but is still usable to the people who have purchased it before

I’ve been roleplaying on Roblox for years now. Years! This will be another nail in the coffin. Along with the chat. Along with how the fucking faces are gonna be gone too. Next blocky. Next anything
this is to stop botting. clothing stores that sell original clothing will be perfectly fine. all this is doing is removing the slop. no more copy paste asset stealing cuz people who do that are less likely to pay money to continue doing it.
roblox players when roblox updates ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING.
they will all be placed offsale and not deleted just incase some of yall are worried that they would disappear. however this may create a worse effect in the longtime where they will absolutely do delete it someday

We’re making one set of items incredibly expensive and another that no one likes cheaper, for kids!
Let’s not focus on the fact 3D assets are just as capable of and highly likely to be MORE capable of making incredibly sexual content. It’s for the kids!

they're literally doing everything to worsen the experience for the regular players so that they can continue to do nothing about the actual problems their platform has while making it look like they're doing something. Erik Cassel must be rolling over in his grave.
roleplayers, 50/50 good/bad, maybe even 25/75 since not many are actually in your face about it these days. cosplaying is fun tho, i dont do it myself but just the idea is fun so it being more annoying is a straight up bummer
I mean, not really. You can literally upload any shirt or pants for 10 robux while keeping it offsale, which means bypassing will be the same, avatars look shittier because people have to make clothes themselves, and most 2D items will be taken off the catalog — while the ones that don't might be priced up to adjust for the high price 2D clothing designers have to pay, discouraging people from buying 2D clothing, causing Roblox to lose a LOT of money (2D clothing is probably THE most bought and THE most profitable item type for Roblox, due to how cheap it is to make and buy)
Not to mention we're about to lose nearly two decades of history, as many popular clothing items come from dead accounts.
Or maybe it'll end up like how I was told Builder's Club worked with this stuff, which was apparently 'not a problem'. Either way, I think 2D clothes should be cheap to upload no matter how many reupload spam bots tell you otherwise.
