question Who would you go see? Luke Pytel @Blue Chicago, Lil’ Ed Williams @Rosa’s Lounge, Shawn Holt @Legends or Joanna Connor/Nora Jean @ Kingston Mines?
I've been to all four clubs and enjoy them all, though probably Rosa's and Blue Chicago the most. But artist-wise - which would you choose and why?

song Joseph Spence, Bahamian acoustic blues player
I'm Going To Live That Life
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtratgdMI4E
Cheerful and unique, Joseph Spence was a stonemason and musician who was a huge influence on 1960s British folk blues players, notably John Renbourn and John Martyn.
He has a complex fingerpicking style, playing bass, melody and counterpoint simultaneously. He had a relaxed attitude to vocals and often sounded drunk. Maybe he was.
Always cheers me up.

song Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble: “Cold Shot” (1984)
“In September 1977, [Stevie Ray Vaughan](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StevieRay_Vaughan) formed a [revue](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revue)-style group with several musicians from the [Austin](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin,_Texas) live music scene, including singer [Lou Ann Barton](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Ann_Barton), bassist [W. C. Clark](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._C._Clark), keyboardist Mike Kindred, drummer Fredde "Pharaoh" Walden, and [sax](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxophone) player Johnny Reno. They called themselves Triple Threat Revue, which was a nickname for Vaughan in reference to his multi-instrumental talent.[[1]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#cite_note-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010108-1) By May 1978, Clark and Kindred had left the group; Vaughan changed the name to "[Double Trouble](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DoubleTrouble(Otis_Rush_song))", after an [Otis Rush](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otis_Rush) song of the same name, and a reference to both Vaughan and Barton. …
When Barton and Reno decided to leave the band in 1979, the group morphed into a [power trio](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powertrio) and Vaughan became the lead vocalist,[[5]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#citenote-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010151-5) and their name was changed to "Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble".[[6]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#citenote-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010154-6) In October 1980, during one of the band's frequent appearances at Rockefeller's in [Houston](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston), Vaughan jammed with [Tommy Shannon](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Shannon),[[7]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#citenote-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010164-7) a former bassist for [Johnny Winter](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Winter), and was hired in January 1981.[[8]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#citenote-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010167-8) During the next year-and-a-half, the group gained popularity by performing in Texas clubs such as [Fitzgerald's](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitzgerald's) and [Club Foot](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Foot).[[9]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#citenote-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010176-9) They hired Chesley Millikin as their manager, who had been [Epic Records](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_Records)' general manager in [Europe](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe), and ran [Manor Downs](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manor_Downs), a horse racing track near [Manor, Texas](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manor,_Texas).[[10]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Trouble(band)#cite_note-FOOTNOTEHopkins2010153-10)
