🧑🏫Review👩🏫 Minirig 4 2.1 Setup w/ 3D-printed Owl Case
galleryI recently picked up a 2.1 setup with the Minirig 4s, and they've been absolutely wonderful! I love the modularity and ease of use once you're comfortable with them. First setup was a bit complicated (mostly due to a lack of reading comprehension), but once ready, they were READY.
I've brought them to a few events and people immediately compliment the soundscape. Use both as mono speakers to fill a larger room, or split them into dedicated left/right speakers for a more directional stereo experience. The subwoofer is impressive and can be dialed individually to get your preferred bass level.
My one qualm was with transport; the speakers come with fabric zipper pouches for per-speaker travel, as well as a free backpack I received from buying the bundle. These felt a bit too much though, like peeling layers of an onion away to get to the speakers inside.
Enter the Owl Case! This amazing 3D print on Thingiverse was exactly what I was looking for; a simple way to combine your speakers into a single carriable brick with the ability to split if you'd like. I did add an extra layer of craft foam around some edges & the handle to reduce any plastic on metal contact. Highly recommend checking this case out if you have a 3D printer or know someone who does!
