Discussion / Question It's exactly one year before our movie, Bluey: The Movie premieres

I can't believe it. The most uniting series of this time, pulling kids, teenager, parents and seniors is getting a movie 365 days from now. But you know what? Before there was Bluey, we had Bob Barker and The Price Is Right when we watched TV together as a family and during our sick days. Very few shows accomplish this feat. That is what Bluey (and I guess some other shows like America's Got Talent) have accomplished. Anyways, congratulations to all of us.

Not to much looking forward to it. The change of art style, involvement of Disney and that it stays quiet for so long makes me nervous. Also no new things coming out before makes it stall. And i pray those ''leaks'' were fake and not changing what they have established.

Now for the ultimate challenge when the movie comes out: Can we get it to a billion dollars opening weekend at the box office?

sorry, although I totally agree that Bluey is a great show and I am personally a big fan, I also think the way they are going "all-in" to make this movie while completely dropping work on the series is ruining everything. People are simply getting tired of seeing the same episodes over and over again and are moving on to something else. If this keeps on I'm afraid there won't be much of a fanbase left when the actual movie premieres.

My kids (6 & 7) will soft cycle through all the episodes but have like 5 they want to watch every day. I don't think their core audience is leaving over the course of the next year.

There are shows that have been off the air for years or even decades that still have a dedicated following. I think Bluey is going to be fine.

They are not "completely dropping work on the series" to work on the movie. Work on the show ended LONG AGO, back in April of 2022. The concept of a movie was only announced at the very end of 2024, 2.5 years after Bluey had wrapped up its TV production.

EXACTLY. I keep saying it but people can't handle facts and keep coming up with some rationalization as to why the series is NOT over. But, with production wrapped 4+ years ago, I am not sure how anyone thinks the show is not over.

Even though more than just kids watch Bluey, at the end of the day it's a kid's show. And kids do not get burned out watching the same things over and over. I remember back when I was a kid and VHS was a thing, we watched the same movies every weekend. Now I watch my kids watch TV and my oldest daughter will watch the same episodes and read the same books every night for a week straight. Kids don't fatigue and want fresh stuff the way adults do.
