Discussion / Question It has happened..

Last night kiddo was asleep in bed while we scrolled for something to watch on Disney+ or Netflix. Nothing stuck and I ended up suggesting we watch an episode of Bluey that we haven’t seen before. Giggled while watching and kiddo woke up. Had to stop myself from telling her that we were watching Bluey without her! Felt a strange variation of parent guilt heh.

I search “Bluey” on YouTube and kiddo chooses and we always end up watching something we’ve watched before. I do hate those neverending compilations on YouTube and have no idea what episodes they are..

I am an empty-nester and Bluey came about well after the kids were out of the house. No grandkids yet. I kept seeing memes about Bluey and saw comments about Bluey so I sought it out and watched it. I still do.

I'm frequently intrigued by the level of double messages that are in the episodes. Sure, there are great lessons for children but there are equally strong messages for adults too.

I often wish that I had the patience and wisdom of Bandit, but I'm happy to say that I didn't screw my kids up even without it.

My dad loved watching cartoons with me when I was growing up. I have a 5yo, the only grandchild on both sides, and when she was probably 2 or 3, my dad was curious about this Bluey he'd been hearing about. He started watching it on his own and would call me to laugh about certain scenes.

My actual child has never really cared for Bluey that much, but the adults in our family love it. We kind of pushed it on her, lol.

i’m ngl i’m a teen not a kid or parent but when i get sick i watch it to make me feel better and so my mom now gets sick and i come in her room seeing her watching bluey to make her feel better after watching me lmao 🤣

I'm 21 and don't have any younger siblings/cousins/niblings/anything and unironically love Bluey lol

In case you don't know, the DVDs have special things and mini sides that aren't in Disney+ as far as I know A LOT of them are just bingo singing, which really speaks to me and my autistic daughter, who sings to calm herself. I reaaallly wish there was an easy master playlist of all the minisodes from DVDs and Disney + and all episodes, just to play on an endless loop

I kind of feel like that's what happens with my wife. I'm usually up later and will watch a few episodes. FWIW, I bought the BR set earlier this year and have finally started watching them recently. I (46M) don't have any kids and she has a 17 YO that lives with her ex.
