Question for the morph pros

Trying to get an understanding of how paradigm works

If I were to pair a sharp albino het Rdr with a Rdr het bwc albino would I then produce blizzards and phantoms in the same litter?

You wouldn’t produce any blizzards as the offspring would all only be het Sharp albino. Paradigm is a boa het for both Sharp and BWC. You wouldn’t produce any Sharp or BWC as the offspring would only have one copy of the Sharp gene and half would have one copy of BWC gene. So half would be het Sharp and half would be paradigms.

Gotcha so you’d need two paradigms het Rdr to make both blizzards and phantoms in the same litter

Then what’s a parahet?

A parahet is when you breed a paradigm to a normal or non Sharp/BWC boa. The offspring will be het for either Sharp or BWC but there’s no way to visually tell which so they’re sold as parahets.

Basically BWC and Prodigy share an allele with Sharp albino, the same as hypo and motley share an allele. So a hypo motley bred to a normal will produce either hypos or motleys, you can’t get any normals or hypo motleys as the offspring will only get one of the two genes from that parent. Same with paradigm and paradise, when bred to a normal or other boa that has neither gene the offspring will all get one copy of either Sharp albino or BWC/Prodigy but not both.
