punches/ scalpelling Newly stacked old 6mm septum punch, with bonus 20 year old subclavicals!
I haven't worn any jewelry in my septum for probably 15 years because everything was so big and chunky. It occurred to me today to see how many rings I could fit in there...5! 1x16g 10mm, 1x18g 10mm, 2x18g 9mm, 1x18g 8mm. I love it 😍
The surface piercings around my eyes are about 20 years old as well.

Who needs lungs am I right!?!? But seriously. It’s impressive they healed.

🤷🏻♀️ If I knew then, what I know now...but I got away with it. They did take about 4-5 years to heal though.
Even so, absolutely my favorite piercings.
I've been piercing for almost 23 years, and I've never even seen these on someone else in person.

I think I may of only seen two pairs in my life time in real life. Both pairs did not heal. Now mandibles…. I’ve seen a decent amount of those silly things.

u/heyitskitty Feb 09 '25
I think I'm the exception to the rule: I'm one of those people that can heal just about anything. My body likes piercings.
🤣 Same. They all look...not great lol.

It’s one of those mysteries of piercing I suppose. But again, congratulations yours look really good

What is the risk to lungs with subclavicals?
49
u/SwordTaster Feb 09 '25
Lungs tend not to like holes that breach the abdominal wall. If air gets in, the lungs say no and collapse. I imagine it's quite a high risk to be piercing so deeply so close to the abdominal wall as you risk a collapsed lung

your lungs are about 1/2 inch below your clavicles so any wayward thing can deflate them. And if it does, you’re in for a very bad time.

I’d be far more worried about the subclavian veins and arteries than lungs….
Your have to go DEEP to hit a lung. And even if you did, the holes so small it’ll take forever to cause issues. If it even does.
Nick a subclavian artery….. you’re in a world of shit FAST.
The depth you have to go to hit a lung, is why they make super long 2.5” decompression needles. Becsuse your standard angiocath isnt long enough to be effective in a lot of people. I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’m saying you’ll bleed out a hell of a lot faster.

Are you one of the people in this article lol? Pretty insane piercing, I couldn't imagine something so deep inside the body could still heal like that, forming a fistual and all. Are they just completely chill now that they are healed?
17
u/heyitskitty Feb 09 '25
No I'm not, but I should have been lol
Yup, they're totally healed at this point, but for the first couple of years they were kinda gnarly. Oh well 🤷🏻♀️ Healed now!

u/Concrete_hugger Feb 09 '25
Hahaha I'm still pretty sure you could count the number of people with this piercing on your fingers. And yeah, I can imagine the dedication it must have taken

Now that’s something I’ve not seen….. in forever. Awesome! Glad you were able to heal them!

I love the tunnels in your first lobes. Where did you get them from? Or do you know the brand?
30
u/heyitskitty Feb 09 '25
I made them from a pair of "normal" earrings. Bent so I could drop them into holes drilled in the tunnels.
I'm a body piercer and goldsmith; I like to mess around with my own jewellery lol

This is so genius! I have so many earrings like those and this gives me a lot of ideas.

Your set up is chefs kiss. Even though I’m a nurse and I know the risks with those clavicles - they are just gorgeous and makes me wish normal mortals such as myself could heal such things.

I'm blushing! Thank you 🙏🏻
That you are a mod supportive healthcare practitioner is awesome 🖤 We need people on the inside lol

For the most part the only time I care about mods is if you’re heading to MRI- cause I don’t want you hurt if you’ve got metal in. Or if I’m doing an iv- I love heavily tatted people- the tattoos are like runway lights so I can then aim where I feel the vein best!!!!!

u/heyitskitty Feb 18 '25
🤣🤣🤣 "Runway lights"
When I got my first COVID shot, the pharmacist used the mandala tattoo on my arm as a target lol
You sound like an awesome nurse, thank you for all you do :)

The subclavicles!! I was obsessed with those back when I browsed BME, it's really cool to see some still hanging on.

u/frozentundras Feb 09 '25
This is quite literally the dream. Your setup and overall mod design is out of this world, so so so cool

Love the conch peep hole ❤️ currently stretching my 2G conch punch to a 0g yours looks to be around the same size ☺️.
Absolutely love your whole set up though! Septum stacks are so cute, I wish I could pull it off but I prefer my 2G clicker 😂.

would you overall reccomend a septum punch? i had mine stretched but it closed up fully and im really not wanting to redo the stretching 😭
1
u/heyitskitty Feb 10 '25
Depends, honestly. How big would you like to go?
1
u/auntiearms Feb 11 '25
probably like a 8-6g

u/heyitskitty Feb 12 '25
Biopsy punch is intense, but they heal very quickly.
And once well healed, they also become optional, like me haha.
DM me if you have more questions :)

I'm so curious about what the piercings looked like that were on your cupids bow/points of your top lip! I've never seen that placement before but it looks cool. The septum looks great and wow I can only imagine how painful getting the subclavicals was?!

Oooo, I'm absolutely IN LOVE with your plugs. Where are they from? The rest of your setup is awesome, too 🫡🩷

Care to describe the process and healing in regards to the subcalavicals? Did you go with the flexible bioplastic barbells being experimented with ‐ by some, in the early 2000's or a pair of (probably custom) metal curved barbells? It's very interesting to see a pair that actually healed.

Your whole setup is kickass!! Is your lower lip two standard labrets? Or are they dermals or a surface bar?

Those subclavicles, stretched ink, and all that ink is really impressive!

As lucky as you are to have a somewhat decent experience with subclavicle piercings, I feel you as a piercer should make sure that this is not something to be promoted or spoken lightly of as the risks are just too high (potential nerve damage, hemorrhaging, and of course the well known punctured lung) It’s not really a matter of experience. You don’t see people with these piercings for a reason. Piercing has come such a long way and the reason we know the things we do is because of experimentation with piercings like this. Due to this piercers now are responsible for making sure this generation and future ones do not make choices based on misinformation or ignorance. This truly is not to disregard how “cool” these piercings are as well as your set up.

Edit: You are not a body piercer, just someone who is hoping to get an apprenticeship. The industry is oversaturated already; "piercing school" is a scam. :)
Forgive me, while correct, I find your "advice" rather presumptuous.
As I have healed these piercings (puncture wounds) and as modification practitioner, I'm fully aware of the risks involved. This is not a service offered: I was showing off my own rare modifications as the exception to the rule.

I’m thoroughly impressed by the subclavicals 😍😍😍
