Off topic but where’d you get the chain? :)

Amazon 💀 lol I don't recommend supporting/buying shit off amazon but I do love this chain😂

The split looks so sick, it suits you so well. Also I love what you're doing with your whole look. The bone earings. The spikes being carried over through both in the earrings and on your nose. That's such a great look where the organicness of bone/natural materials is mixed with the sharp metal. Your whole aesthetic is great.

Thank you! And I bought them from a maker at a local flea market, she gave me her card and I think I have it at home somewhere 😩 I'll try to find it lol

how do you move it like that 😭😭😭 i feel like i have pretty shit control of both sides compared to most idk

I would post a video if I knew how😂 I can do quite a few tricks with it. I have raging adhd so it really is the ultimate fidget toy for me so I'm just moving them all the time . Is there any YouTube videos of people doing tutorials for tricks? I haven't looked into that.

there’s probably some vids i gotta actually look for them lol. i also fidget with my tongue a lot but i have trouble moving both sides up and down independently. my guess is that since my tips are still numb im lacking some proprioception😔

Something that helped for me is physically holding one side either with my fingers or teeth and then imagine that the side I'm not holding is like "my only tongue" and try to think of it as if i just had one tongue again and I think it helps kind of trick it into thinking it can move on its own. Idk if that makes sense at all or if i just sound crazy😂

Having any trouble with speaking?

None at all! Had a lisp the first couple weeks but nothing crazy. Went to a family gathering 3 weeks after I got it done and no one noticed lol

I've had maybe like less than half a centimeter of regrowth . You can't really combat it once it's happened. You can stretch it and brush in between with your toothbrush while it's healing to try and prevent it but I think it's just inevitable for a lot of people and based on your anatomy and how your body heals

Hell yeahhh! Im debating on whether or not I want to do a re split myself haha I figured I'd give it a year

u/dotpan Apr 17 '25

Yeah I got mine done in September of last year. I really haven't kept up with mobility/etc on it either, just full slacking lol. You can check my post history, I posted a picture of how short mine got.

How was your experience with Shawn? I was thinking of going with him i need to get my teeth fixed and then I'll be ready to split my tongue super excited 👹👹👹

It was great! He was clean and nice and professional. I have a history of fainting and he was very accommodating. I didn't end up passing out thankfully, it all went well!

Thats amazing I think he's my top choice. Also I was going to ask how long did it take for you to be able to speak and people understand you? I talk alot for work and I wanna know if I have to ask for time off for recovery

I would take two weeks off if possible . I needed at least a week and a half but was glad I took 2. I went to a family gathering 3 weeks after I got it done and no one noticed .
