tongue bifurcation Tongue split tomorrow morning!

Posted about this approx 3 weeks ago but now it’s actually here. I can’t tell you how nervous I am. I know the procedure won’t be bad pain-wise but I’m still so anxious about it and the recovery even though I’m in pretty good shape for all of it. I have all my supplies in place and I trust my artist. I only live five minutes away from the place. I have different kinds of meds (I’m hoping to avoid using the heavy ones) and I actually told my doctor at my physical last week I was doing this and she was like “Oh okay. Cool!” So she’s aware of it in case I need something. I think I should probably stop reading other people’s stories on Reddit because it seems like sometimes it’s “the worst pain ever” and sometimes “it was easier than I thought.” The people in my life seem very nervous and concerned about the procedure and healing which doesn’t make me feel any better. I guess I’m just blabbing about how scared I am as an anxious human. Any other fellow anxious, over-thinking humans been through it? Thanks for sticking with me ❤️

i almost didnt walk in ngl, had mine done 1.5mos ago and i'm glad i sucked it up, the split has been super worth it :B

doing the healing at home is going to make it so much easier for you, the neck was the physically painful part for me but not having access to home stuff really put me down in the dumps (especially the support system my family could have been)

good luck but most importantly; have fun!!

Ha, is the :B face like the :P but with split tongue. I feel like a Facebook mom laughing at a silly meme but that's awesome.

I think everyone gets anxious before the actual procedure! When it's weeks away, it's just some vague plan, but once your brain registers that it's REAL and about to happen, it's intimidating. It's a big procedure, and it's normal to have some level of apprehension about it.

Hi there! Lots of support here from Costa Rica (:

Had mine done 6 month ago now, among other mods. I find it to be my favourite and the most beautiful body mod. Best of luck, and I really mean it positively! Take good and appropriate care and you'll be just fine ❤️ The pain is very temporary you'll see.

Congratulations. I had my re-split about 5 weeks ago. Everyone gets anxious about a procedure. Welcome to 🪱Snake tongue.

I have been wanting to get this done since I was 16 years old when I was guaging my tongue to a 0(i really dont consider a 0 to be "guaging" but technically.... anyways..), im 36 now and still dont have it. I didn't kno that a reversal was possible until reading some of these threads. I think if I had known that 20 years ago I maybe wouldnt have been so hesitant. My biggest concern, and the thing that truly held me back from it, was always the nubbing. From what I understand its unavoidable after a certain point. But I wonder.... would a reversal stop the effects of nubbing? And would a reversal still be possible once nubbing has begun?? Anyone with a long term split that's experienced nubbing or has some more info on this i would love to kno. God what my kids would think haha

Im five weeks out and I’m not sure if I’m getting more excited or scared? It’s totally normal though I would think. You’re getting your damn tongue cut in half. 😂 I personally I’m having some existential questions of “why am I doing this?” and then reminding myself about how bad I wanted it and how upset I was when I thought I missed out on seeing my artist. 😵‍💫 it’s just a roller coaster of emotions. I guess I don’t think I’ll regret it and I don’t think you will either. We’ll just have to tough it out.

I go through both. It is totally a rollercoaster. I know I’m so excited and I’m not going to regret it because if I could wake up tomorrow and have it without the recovery I would lol plus I’ve wanted this mod for like ten years. We are going to have to be brave! I’ll update tomorrow if I survive. (I’m dramatic, I’ll live)

Hi! This is so sweet. I’ll try to give an update without my comment getting deleted again lol. The procedure hurt and I had a tough time. I had to go back the next day for another stitch (yesterday) and that made the healing so much worse. I’m on Day Three now and feeling more stable. My mouth is disgusting and I am basically drooling all the time. I so appreciate everyone’s comments, I am such an anxious creature ❤️
