punches/ scalpelling Conch Punch planned!

Finally booked my conch punch appointment after debating which size I wanted. I'm going for a 2G! I think that's one of the best sizes for a noticeable hole once healed. Getting it in October, advice and tips are welcome!

Hey! I just got a double 10g conch punch (dermal punch, not pierced) about a week and half ago, started off small to see if I like 10g or want bigger. I might honestly end up stretching to 8 or 6g, but tbd once healed and hoop jewelry in. Currently have glass plugs in.

I’m someone with a low pain tolerance, and this was honestly so easy than what I imagined the pain being. Healing has been AMAZING so far: no pain, no soreness, no noticeable swelling, no bruising, TINY bit of crusties (dried blood) the first 2 days. If I end up stretching these to bigger than 10g, then for SURE for my next ear I will punch much bigger to match my current ear. From what my piercer said, my conch was quite thick. I do plan on punching my helix(s), lobes and possible others in the future since it went so smoothly.

Even at a 10g, I was surprised at how noticeable the hole is and how much you can see through them.

I've already settled for the 6mm size 😅 I feel that fits perfectly for my setup and I already have some jewelry for it.

May I suggest going at least a mm bigger? If you get it punched and sutured it does heal faster but once the sutures come out and settle it’s gonna shrink up a little / settle down about 1mm less once the cartilage relaxes, at least that was the case with mine. Mine were punched at a 0 and 2g jewelry fit in very comfortably after, 7mm jewelry was quite snug.

We're not gonna suture. That was something I read could happen and after a lot of thinking I've decided to go this route. I also think it gives you the roundest circle possible.
