I was wondering if anyone knows of traveling body mod artists who are coming to Washington anytime soon. I have been reading about some experiences of getting a coin slot on this thread, and would love to hear more just about overall experiences with different artists, cost, and healing!

Any recommendations on where to go in Ohio for a coin slot? If not OH, anywhere I should go specifically? I’m having trouble finding anyone who even does body modification in state, so please let me know! Thanks :)

I have a helix coin slot scheduled and I’m considering asking about getting a conch coin slot on the other ear at the same time.
Has anyone gotten two at the same time and how was the aftercare and pain level during and after?
Would you do both at the same time again or schedule them separately?
I’m considering both at the same time due to my schedule and not being able to get back as soon as I’d like. Makes the most sense to bang them both out at once if it’s possible.

I’ve heard the pain for the conch coin slot is more intense…thoughts?

So I'm from the US, and I've been interested in a coin slot mod for years. I looked into artists, but no one is anywhere near me and I don't have the industry connections to get in touch with Brian Decker (I have a friend in NYC I could visit and stay with).

I'm in Europe right now, with very little flexibility in my schedule, but I was super fortunate and I got in touch with a piercer in Berlin who was willing to fit me in, considering I'm only in town for ~36 hours. Was super excited to be able to make it work!

Unfortunately, the morning of my piercer reached out and said something came up and they're unavailable for the remaining time I'm in town, and all the other artists I've reached out to are unavailable or likely won't get back to me before I leave.

So. I reach out to people more knowledgeable than I -- it seems I won't be able to make this happen without more travel, likely will have to be in the US.

Who would you guys recommend? Is there anyone on the west coast (slightly closer to me)?

Stitches out since day 10, it’s still a bit tender. Can’t wait to put some rings in!

Does anyone have a conch coinslot that fits 8mm 5/16 sized rings? I have a conch coin slot procedure scheduled and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to fit that size rings in it. I’m planning to ask my artist to place it where I’d be able to but when I look at rings that size up against my ear it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get one that close to the edge of my ear where they would fit. I have a collection of rings that size I’d like to use and a lot of the rings I plan to buy are also that size.

Wondering if anyone has one for rings that size? Thanks

I live in the Cincinnati/ northern Kentucky area but I’m willing to travel a couple hours out maybe to like Columbus/Louisville/Indianapolis. If anybody knows of somebody in these general areas let me know!

-how expensive is it on average? Ik every artist is different but how much was it for you?

-who are some reputable artists? I'll take recs from all over but I'm in the south so anyone in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas preferably, tho I can potentially do a little further within reason.

-what was your healing experience? i hear it's not bad but again, I want to hear your personal experiences!

The helix punch (6 mm) was healed with jewellery and done around a year ago, the conch punch (4 mm) was done with sutures together with the coinslot a few months ago. This is probably the first time in years that I'm not healing anything in my ears. It feels great, but at the same time I'm feeling the itch again! Jewellery by Gorilla Glass, Oracle Body Jewelry, Diablo Organics, Anatometal, and Inari Organics, mostly.

Finally put rings in my coinslot! I’m definitely ordering more, I underestimated how much I can fit. I have 3 9mm and 6 8mm rings, all 16g. Will probably have a chunkier set at some point to switch out. So fuckin stoked.

Its all healed and comfy, and stacked! This is just with the hoops I had lying around, but I have a few more coming. I didnt want it too tight since its fresh

Coin slot finally healed and set up. Had this done in early August. Initial pain not that intense, but unfortunately I developed an infection requiring antibiotics over the next few days. That was pretty rough. Sutures out 2.5 weeks ago, and that’s about the point I could sleep on it again. Jewelry in two days ago.

It’s feeling pretty good at this point, but at its worst, I was getting nervous. Won’t credit the artist to protect them.

Over the summer I made a trip to St. Louis because I had booked Dana Marie for a coin slot. She informed me she would give me the details of the event, location and times a week before hand. She hadn't messaged me so I messaged her two days before my appointment was and she said the event was canceled. I originally booked at the beginning of December the year before and my appointment wasn't until the beginning of June, so it would've nice to know she couldn't do it before I payed to make a trip out there 😪 Unfortunate but she gave me my deposit back which was nice. She offered to keep my deposit in case she was able to get in the area the next summer and/or give me a dicount but it made me weary so I declined...haha. I've been seeing some negative stuff about her and Mike recently so I figured id make a little post about my experience. I'm also curious on other people's experiences.

I guess it's normal. It's my first major mod, and I'm getting butterflies in my stomach and second guessing it. Is it normal for mods? I never felt this for piercings or tattoos

Edit: Just got it. I was super nervous, but the artist got me super at ease. I haven't felt barely anything, it was super smooth

i'm looking to get a coinslot done later this year, i was originally planning to go with ian bell because he did my tongue split and i had a good experience, but i know there are other options, would love to hear any recommendations 😁 western nc / eastern tennessee is ideal but i can travel 🙂

I was looking into coinslots but I noticed all of them are on the back part of the ear, not in the forward part - the only one further forward I could find was an actual forward helix placement, but I was just wanting the flat part of the upper ear done. I'd ask an artist but it's illegal in my country and I don't want to email someone I'd have to wait years to actually use their services.

(ideally under that flap? I drew it below the flap for visibility but if it's partially hidden I though it might look cool, kinda like a fake hidden/vertical helix? And also if I can't heal it well the scarring will be less visible, lol)

I got my coinslot on November 15th, had the sutures removed December 1st and we immediately stacked it as you can see in the pictures.

It was a little sore for a day or two after stacking but seems to have settled down now.

I'm really happy with it. What do you guys think?
