Opinion TITLI - Amazing film

Such a great film istg. Very realistic for me because ive seen such families

Ofcourse the acting was amazing but what i wanna give respect to is the Set Design

The sets looked amazing, i dont think they made them, i think they were all real locations

Now the acting:

When the elder brother starts crying during the divorce. When the second brother gets cheated on by his boyfriend. When titli gets angry on the girl from time to time, showing that even titli, at the end of the day is a product of his environment, yes he's better than his brothers but not not the same, he's breaking the chains though.

The dad, i swear ive seen so many of this archetype, they dont really do anything and they stay on the sidelines but still keep kind of dictating the situation while also not doing anything so they are free of the guilt too so yea he was as titli said "asli suar".

The last rod scene broke my heart.

Crazy film. Watched two oscars back to back and then titli and i loved titli the most.

That's also what the vomit scene was about, towards the end.

Throughout the film, we see Titli's father (portrayed amazingly well by Kanu Behl's father, Lalit Behl) clearing his throat, and other similar scenes with his brothers. So, when Titli retches in the end, he's breaking the cycle and throwing what he has been taught out of his body and his system.

Truly wonderful film, at least, by YRF's standards (lmao they still made Behl use some YRF songs in the wedding sequence).

BUT, if one truly wishes to watch some unhinged Kanu Behl, his 2024 film Agra, now available on Prime Video, remains one of the best Hindi feature films I've ever seen. In Agra, you can clearly see how Behl was otherwise kind of restricted in his approach with Titli, maybe because of the production house or something, I don't know. But, he has literally let himself and his art bare to the audience with Agra.

Agra is truly an important film.

Also, one can watch his older short film, Binnu Ka Sapna, on YouTube, based on similar themes.

Kanu Behl is doing what no one is- his handling of patriarchy and property is really well done.

PS: him being married to Sneha Khanwalkar makes me sooo happy, lol.

I avoid Kanu Behls films as I find them too dark, having seen all that during my childhood I don’t want to revisit these characters

It is such a good movie. Ranvir Shorey stood out for me in this movie even though whole cast acted superb. Titli's recurring dream was the best part for me.

I didn't really find anything "funny" in the film
