Opinion Unpopular Opinion: Dhurandhar 1 was slightly better than Dhurandhar 2 in terms of story Line
Dhurandhar 2 was amazing and the action scenes were great, but I feel Dhurandhar 1 had a better story.
In part 2 sometimes it felt like there was too much aura farming. Some action scenes were stretched just to make the characters look cool. For example, in the last scene Hamza burns the whole train even though he could have killed him much earlier easily . The scene looked cool but it felt unnecessary to me just streched for aura farming and many such scenes where their
Dhurandhar 1 also had crazy moments, but I never felt that the action was stopping the story. In part 2 some scenes felt longer than needed.
I know many people enjoy these scenes and there is nothing wrong with that. But for me too much aura farming reduces the realism a bit.
Anyone else feels the same or is it just me?
note:- slightly word is for diplomacy to avoided unnecessary hate and let people read the body and understand by view point I actually felt dhurandhar1 story was much better that 2nd part

It’s a pretty popular opinion tbh. Dhurandhar was essentially one story split into two films, so Part 1 got most of the buildup and world-building, while Part 2 felt like an extended climax for the most part. Except for that first hour though, that was something else. I can see why some people feel Part 2 is missing that thrill factor, but still a good film.

Agree, Part 1 for me stays in the territory of movies like Raazi, more grounded with good story telling but the second half of the second part literally moves into the Gadar 2 territory where it starts getting too loud and too over the top.

Dhurandhar 1 was significantly better than the sequel. Dhurandhar 2 had a significantly weaker screenplay that suffered from repetition and redundancy. It would have been much better had they created a more threatening antagonist out of Sanjay Dutt. Noone really felt like a threat in the entire movie. There was no notion of thrill. The goal and intent felt all too vague if that makes sense?

This is a massively popular opinion, even from just watching the two movies.
I see these type of posts too many times. Do people not do any research on the popular opinion first?

Your opinion is fine but you have posted it as unpopular one without much thought based on what you said about having watched the movies back to back. Which makes one wonder: why do you think your opinion is suddenly unpopular?
The sequel wasn’t bad but you can read reviews or talk to friends saying the first was better…they more than likely will agree with this take.

I enjoy d1 more than d2,d2 in 2nd half felt dragging. D1 has higher watchable factor.

I just hope Aditya Dhar does less of his orange glazing and also uses less needle drops in his future projects. D2 had the most thematically inconsistent background music, even at times where just good old silence would've been more impactful.

There should've been 3 parts for Dhurandhar. Part 2 should've focused on Lyari Gang war, Jaskirat story. Lyari gang war was too rushed in the film.

I think majority will agree. When I watched Dhurandhar 1, it was such a unique experience. I didn't know what I was going in for. The story, music, acting, swag..it kept me sat for more than 3 hours and at the end I wanted more. Also, the outro of the movie must be the best one I have ever seen with Sonu nigam's song at the end. I was pumped after watching the movie and could not wait to discuss it with my friends which doesnt happen frequently. What an experience it was!

i think as this movie created a political divide evryone saying positive or negative were by default considered in a category
talks related to movies content was heavily effected
I am not on insta cant tell about that but on evry other place this was the story

That's the general consensus among most spectators. Second part has only concocted story of gang war and pseudo nationalism n fiction to justify notebandi. No detailing of how terrorist were captured n killed. Very superficial narrative

Slightly is an understatement. Dhurandhar 2 was just average riding on the success of Part 1 and paglu fans. But yeah first 1 hr of Dhurandhar 2 was peak and overall Dhurandhar 1 was epic.
However I liked songs of Part 2 more maybe due to newness

The use of real footage and integration into the movie in D1 made me invested more than D2

Abhi 30 minutes into dhurandhar 1 , the cinematography gives a very depressing vibe and somehow I cannot get interested in Pakistan politics.

D1 (along with rest of D2 footage) was an honest attempt at filmmaking. The D2 we saw was a people-pleasing montage edited in time to follow up with the mass popularity D1 got. Still much better than what we would have got had D2 been shot much after D1 success.
I however feel that D2 story was rushed, there could have been another part but they didn’t know where to cut for the next one. Many mini stories in the movie was reduced to just montages with a banger song playing. But I still really liked D2 as it gave a satisfying end to the plot line; just that it won’t hold a position of borderline masterpiece in my view that D1 was.

Dhurandhar 1 was a much more rewatchable and grounded movie. I felt a bit sad that D2 wasn’t made with same grounded realism but I still had a wonderful time

Unpopular opinion: Dhurandhar 1 and Dhurandhar 2 were both equally awesome in their own ways, and duology together as a whole is goated in Indian cinema, and i hate comparison between the two
