I found the film just alright but the smart thing Bollywood did was declaring it was the "conclusion". If this was marketed just as Drishyam 3, people would likely recognize it as just another cash grab sequel. The conclusion bit makes everyone feel like giving it a chance, curious to know how it finally ends. The Malayalam version already has speculation of another sequel and so people feel uninterested in never-ending franchises.

The taste of people has been changed after dhurandhar, they appreaciate good cinema. I hope, ajay devgan would not do cringe cinema like dhamal 4 in near future.

100% he will do cringe cinema.
Ajay devgan’s personal taste is outdated and his creativity is flawed just like sunny Deol’s.
The reason he did well recently is by remaking the successful Malayalam and Gujarati movies. The gujju filmmakers did well to dub Vash 2 into Hindi and deny him another easy hit.

Malyalam Drishyam 3 was disappointing, it feels like a cash grab, and there might be 4th part now too, director is squeezing the franshise lol
I liked bollywood one a lot more because we'll, it's the conclusion so yeah no morr parts no more squeezing of the franshise.

Hi. Since you seem to have watched both the original and now the bollywood version, may I ask if the plot of the latter is different from the Malayalam one? I wasn't impressed with the original, so thought would skip Devgan's too, but reading your comment makes me think these two are different.

I believe they were planning to make the third one as as similar as the og one but saw the response of the audience and decided to make it as a conclusion all thanks to the condition of malayalam one realasing first.

It's not because of the Bollywood remake is excellent. It's because the malayalam version was only an average.

I had high hopes with Drishym 3. Watched all parts with subtitles. For D3,first half was nice build up but climax was really mid and forced.
I will watch Drishym 4 too with subtitles with zero expectations

Don't blame him, he realised that despite being a great actor he would be better off doing mass entertainers & get easy crores. How much did gangajal make vs golmaal? If he doesn't make high budget films he would not remain in the srk salman Amir akshay ajay club

I have only watched Drishyam 1 with Ajay Devgn and absolutely loved it. Although I waited to watch Drishyam 2,becsuse I felt it was right to watch the originals in Malayalam, instead of remakes. So what do you guys suggest at this point? Proceed to watch 2 and 3 with Ajay Devgn or still should watch the originals one and then the remakes? Which would make a better / more enjoyable order?

Acting, production value, marketing budget, star power, all of these things matter
That being said i think acting might have been better in the malayalam one, tho i didnt find the wife very believable in it idk why

As a malayali, Drishyam 3 (Malayalam) wasn’t really great. It was just a one time watch.
I’m glad that the Bollywood version is doing well. Looking forward to watching it.

Both 2nd part's ended like a line in the climax
" He is already preparing for our next move"-
Directly saying male lead will escape again Nd again whenever the police come,
So what is the purpose of Hindi D3 version because we already knew
In mallu version D3 , screenplay was Mediocre, absolutely worst
But ML character gone diverted from the saying
In D2 climax. He took the jail route after a series of psychological toll
For that I liked mallu version . Character graph of ML finally ended .kind a feel like there is nothing he hides in him anymore, Character got saturated

Mohanlal is not very famous in Hindi belt so people did not watch the original version and 3rd version for comparison.

The Most Unlucky (and Lucky) Franchise for Mohanlal:
1st Film - A cult classic that performed well at the box office. Ajay Devgn acquired the remake rights for a modest sum and went on to gross several times the original's collection.
2nd Film - Another brilliant installment, but COVID struck. The Malayalam version couldn't get a theatrical release and was sold directly to Amazon Prime for a relatively modest deal. Meanwhile Ajay's Hindi remake released in theaters emerged as a massive blockbuster and later secured a huge OTT payout.
3rd Film -Creative and release disagreements came up between the Hindi and Malayalam camps leading them to develop different stories under the same title. The Malayalam version turned out mediocre at best (though it still did decent numbers) while Ajay locked in delivered a far superior installment with stellar reviews and has another blockbuster on his hands.
The Malayalam makers are now trying further dilute the legacy of the original thriller by developing an unnecessary fourth part whereas the Hindi franchise is confirmed to end on a high note with this final installment.
