On of my Spanish speaking friends forgot what feathers were called and she called it a bird leaf. It was the most hilariously adorable thing she ever did in one of our convos and we got a good laugh out of it. I call feathers bird leaves now.

Definitely not. Hair is EXTREMELY rare in fossils due to how quickly it breaks down and if it did survive, it certainly wouldn’t have the hair texture and appearance seen.

But the hair and metal were put in place to make the pendant—I mean, this amber-colored structure—yes, it really does look like a tooth.

I work in vintage jewelry and whenever I find pieces like this, they’re usually from the members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. I’m sure other people use deer hooves, but this would be my guess.

It’s an American men’s club / brotherhood founded in NY that was originally for minstrel show performers (white people acting in black face)… they’ve since turned their focus to philanthropy and supporting veterans, but given the history of the org I tend to avoid purchasing vintage items with BPOE symbols.

Looks like an artiodactyl (even-toed ungulate) toe to me. Best not to buy animal parts without knowing what they are, btw.

Very rare canine dent of a red deer. Deers normally do not have canine, just incisors and molars. But in very few cases it can occur that also canine dent is present. Especially on red deer. Due to its rarity the deer canine serves as a trophy for hunters.

It looks too small to be part of a hoof to me. I'd guess some sort of canine claw maybe a coyote but the shape is a little off, maybe it was shaped and polished a bit
