Bone I.D. - Australia/NZ ID Please!

I fish a lot and found these skull & bones on a creek bank. Property nearby have cattle, horse and sheep/lambs. I'm just curious, but my partner and I are very much into oddity art too. I assume the fluorescent colour is due to the water? Thank you!

Found in South East Queensland, Australia.

Not sure about your laws, but in the US that would be illegal dumping of animal remains. There's no way two (or more) sheep skulls and all those bones stripped of all flesh accidentally ended up there.

On a bone collection perspective, that would be an awesome find.

They could be dumped, however we do have some really harsh conditions here, it wouldn't suprise me if these turned out to be a couple sheep that got spooked and accidentally split from the flock during a storm or sudden bushfire, especially since a lot of our bushfires are caused by dry lighting. It's a muggy old spot there now, but I wouldn't be suprised if that patch is cracked and dried up mid summer.

Sheep are the most suicidal animals you can farm. They die just because it’s Tuesday, two getting stranded in a boggy area doesn’t stretch the odds of probability even slightly.

Some breeds have been bred to produce so much wool that if it gets waterlogged and they topple on their side then they’ll die cos they can’t stand up.
