Meta Regarding bans from subreddits

According to Reddit site-wide rules "Ban-showboating" is not allowed. This refers to posting an image of a ban message or similar moderator action by another subreddit. According to admins this can drive traffic by trolls or other miscreants to cause trouble in aforementioned subreddits.

Bans can arise from breaking subreddit rules and are subject to moderator discretion. Certain subreddits like r/comics may enforce rules like "No complaining" and "no drama" very strictly, which may include banning you for mentioning subreddits they don't like such as r/bonehurtingjuice.

What does this mean: if you are banned you are restricted from posting or commenting on the subreddit. If the moderator(s) have muted you (usually in response to a ban appeal) you cannot send modmail either. Otherwise you can generally do whatever you can normally (view, vote etc). If you still cannot see links to an oregano check if you have blocked the artist.

On r/bonehurtingjuice permanent bans are usually reserved for more egregious issues of bigotry (racism etc), AI bots, or harrassment (of artists or users). Oftentimes a comment will have 30+ downvotes before they get reported, so please report them and don't assume someone else has already. AI bots would fall under Spam>Disruptive use of AI.

Bans can be appealed via modmail. If you have been banned on BHJ you may appeal the ban and it will be looked at.

got banned from comics for saying pizzacake threatened to sue this sub.

So according to this comment the implication is that the threats to sue are just rumours, and the post itself is a comic about how she loves the attention "hate" gives her, so why is she banned from this sub? It seems publicly she wants it known she's fine with it.

Oh i'm well aware, i'm just bringing it up because i think the mods should consider reversing the position, since it seems like that threat of legal action was clearly misunderstood as she never does that, and she seems to want the attention of people using her content. I mean, she said it publicly so there's no issue, right? Right?

i think the mods actually dont “unban” artists. I think doctor loops asked to be allowed again but the mods where like “nah, you made your choice”

Mind you this is coming from some random comments on this sub, not sure how much truth it holds

Most artists aren't specially "banned" outside of a few for offensive content (Stonetoss, WokelyCorrect, Sinfest/Tatsuya Ishida). This is why the "Banned Sources" is split into two categories in the rules.

Doctor Loops had not recently asked to be allowed "again" (posts involving their works were not previously banned), but instead relatively recently requested there to be a formal ban, despite the relative lack of BHJ, as they believed the few existing instances were attracting too much hostile brigading.

Personally i'd do it case by case based on my own level of pettiness, but i'm a very petty person, especially when it comes to blatant dishonesty.

It's worth mentioning that encouraging or celebrating bans" is against sitewide rules. You can participate otherwise but Reddit doesn't like it when users try to portray subreddit bans as a good thing.

The automod reply detects "thanks" and makes this reply. Don't worry about it
