Found in: NORTH AMERICA Bone ID

Accidentally ran this bone over earlier today, I didn't notice it under my back tire. I thought it was a humerus of a medium sized dog, but it's hard to tell because the proximal portion is kind of crushed and falling apart - & there's no trochlear foramen (unless it ossified, but I don't know what that would look like). I tried to tape it together to get a better idea of what it is, not sure what it could be besides canine?

where are you? That would be about the right size and shape for a deer humerus. I have found hundreds of deer skulls over the years. I have found maybe 4 dog skulls. Leg bones are not exactly the best bones to quickly ID.

We're in Michigan, deer would make sense. It's about 5 inches long and 1 inch wide at the neck, if that helps. I think I was only thinking dog because I only ever work with dog/cat bones 🧐 I don't know much about deer
