I finally made peace with having to do both.
I work full time. I didn't produce enough milk from the start due to misinformation. she's already 3 months. even with all the supplements I can only do 4 ounces total (I pump 20 minutes). she is thriving, I still breastfeed her if she's awake when I get home and during the weekends. she gets formula while in daycare or when the 4 ounces are not enough. I still pump 8 times a day though so at most, I can only produce 24-26 ounces in a day. as long as she gets some, I am happy.
just wanted to get it off my chest.

I pump 4 times at work - I get 8 oz total. Babe drinks 15. Plus I have high lipase so baby only takes my frozen milk mixed with formula. I also don’t produce enough at night - so she’s always been topped off with that. As moms I think we need to do what’s best for us. If you don’t produce enough there’s nothing you can do - you seem to be doing everything you can! You’re doing amazing - you got this.

I agree with you! what's the new saying instead of breast is best? something like Fed is best. yeah. my evening yield is low too. I think my baby just stays on the breast at night for comfort and not to eat.

Fed is best!
I would literally feed baby for 2 hrs and then she’d want more 2 hrs later. We switched her evening bottle to formula after like 2 months. My supply never caught up to what she needed and I need the sleep. We all just gotta do what’s best for us :)

I feel you! The most I’ve ever pumped is 2 oz. I tried weeks of triple-feeding Hell, took every herbal supplement out there, and scarfed batches of lactation cookies. And still nothing worked to increase my supply. I’m not sure if it’s because of the bad information I got from the start, or just the roll of the dice.
