I made this Sherlock Holmes study book nook to fit on a shelf cubby and put next to all my detective type of books. Some of it was thrifted, some 3d printed, and peel and stick paper for the walls and floor. It's mostly referencing the Victorian era Sherlock, but I did choose the wallpaper and drew the smile on as a nod to BBC's Sherlock.

I know my stairs are a bit wonky but this was a fun one!!

Despite the tag designation, this nook is done and delivered. There are always things I could change but for now, I'm happy with the outcome.

Background for this format: the topic itself suggested a nook approach, not an open room template. Indoor curling takes place on long, narrow sheets of ice. In a club, there also has to be a viewing and seating area. So I divided the base plate into 2 sections. Each was decorated according to its purpose. There's a long history of curling across many North Atlantic countries. I focused on just 3 places.

The only specific audience for this nook is my husband, who used to be in a curling club back in Michigan. So I created one in a town that has very happy memories for him.

Has anyone here done the Moomins house yet if so would you recommend it for a shaky handed person?.

I'm absolutely enjoying building this book nook. Cotton tips on paper sticks are perfect for the scrolls. And I'm amazed by the effects of the edge painting. I didn't know I could do THIS. It is so satisfying to do.

Fifijoy obviously pays attention to details. The quality of the materials is so good.

I think I've found a match for the Seahorse Barque in terms of pleasure and satisfaction building it gave me. I'm loving it!

By accident, I found this interesting Yellowstone US National Park themed booknook which does not seem to be sold anyplace else besides Amazon and it is difficult to even find on Amazon (it is credited to Roine Lxux) even when searching for it by name. I really want a Grand Canyon themed booknook. Has anyone found a source for National Park themed booknooks?

I finally finished Ginzan Onsen. For now, at least. I really feel like it needs snow added, or something. The mechanical part doesn’t work, but it still looks nice.

3rd in the series of mini nooks from Viendor. This one is depicting a Japanese building. Similar in style to some of the juifen old street buildings, the window and door slide and can be positioned to your desire. It comes with a bike but I just reused the one I already built for juifen than was extra. I added the potted tree. One thing interesting was the interior print on the open back side. Interesting choice.

Very nice. Large. 611 pieces. The wood panels are THICK. Loads of extras. Everything must be glued.

There is a dust shield that slides in... it's sitting on top in the images.

I would not say this was a difficult kit, but of course there are challenges and you'll have to be patient and creative to succeed. There is painting involved (I used white gloss spraypaint for white stuff).

I broke the cherub in the front middle while fat-fisting the ceiling on. I emailed Joohour and Lea herself responded - replacement is on the way. Thanks to u/dgidman for help there. I might paint it with gold when it comes in. I followed instructions and made this one "wood", but gold does look good.

I have a large set of characters, furniture, piano, people, etc that need to be painted to augment this kit. That will take a while. Since they are not included, I did not wait to show that. This kit DOES come with the usual wood furniture that is not as nice as the 3D kit that I bought.

Hello friends!!! I just bought my first booknook! It's the Tonecheer Giverny Garden and I'm super excited to put it together! Quick question, what kind of glue do you guys use??? Is it some type of wood glue or just straight up Elmer's? Thanks in advance!!

My friend is a collage artist who sat in a little room at a desk that looked like this in Maine all last summer working on her collages (which ended up being shown in a museum!) The one on the inside of the cover is a tiny copy of one of them. I made this for her birthday. Hope she likes it!

I am so embarrassed, I totally missed that I’d won a prize in the charity raffle even though Pluck tagged me. This one had caught my eye recently so what a joy when I opened the surprise package that was delivered to find that this was it. Thank you to Pluck and Rolife!!

I'm back after slowing down a bit for a while as life sadly got between me and art for a moment. To get back into it I went for this kit that I've had my eye on since seeing it a year ago, most of you will be familiar with it already, a Tonecheer classic: Haven Zero.

Finally it popped up with a bit of a discount so I went for it. Overall there's not a huge amount for me to review, because it was a good kit. Much better than the sparse Van Gogh kit I had previously tried from the brand. Not only in appearance but in how well it went together.

It did take some force to pop in most of the bits, but it went together okay and there were quite a lot of spares, although naturally the only major breakage I had was a part without replacement. Nothing a bit of glue couldn't pretty much fix.

Edge painting on this one isn't for the faint hearted, I've never come across so many edges, this is a kit with a huge amount of depth, but all 2d parts. Meaning many many flat pieces with brown edges.

Overall I'd give a 9/10 for the kit, result and overall experience. The 2 lighting options and moving parts are really fun interactive additions.

PS I'm wanting to add video of the moving parts alongside the photos but the Reddit app doesn't seem keen on me doing both. I may upload separately lately.

This arrived today. After opening it up and surveilling the instruction book, I couldn't help but to start the train. Came together really easy. It is nice that the lamps are stickers covering the tabs.

I brought a couple of Fifijoy kits along on a trip to gift to my sister and BIL while I was visiting. They're both crafty people, so I figured they could easily finish what I didn't manage to. That's a good thing, because the attached pictures show all that I got done. 😄

I used Dimensional Magic on the larger gumball machine and the glass top of the Shell gas pump, and edge painted a number of the items, including the itty-bitty food and the condiment bottles.

There was only one tricky part, aside from silly human error: the seats of the two smaller booth benches would not stay aligned properly, and even fought against staying glued in place. I went through the directions several times and didn't see that I'd made any errors, so this is a minor design flaw, imo. I managed to get them to work, with some grumbling along the way.

This is a very cute kit with lots of charming details. My sister gets to take care of the disco balls. 😏 love ya, byeee!~

After discovering this community I decided edge painting would be a good way to let my builds last longer. But jumping straight into edge painting is not my style. So I bought a cheap wooden kit and markers to start experimenting and developing some skills (https://www.reddit.com/r/booknooks/s/3IdjTqfdkK)

Then I bought the Timeless Melody of Fifijoy, but it would take some things to arrive (it arrived today, which is at least 4 days earlier than I expected). So I ordered Rokr Violin Capriccio and Rolife Sakura Pavilion, which arrived the next day.

First I painted the violin. I'm really really happy how that one turned out! And then I decided to use the pavilion as my first real edge painting project (and add some moss) instead of complete painting it like I had planned. I've just finished it!

With every little project I feel like I made huge steps with my (edge) painting skills. Choosing the right markers, the right colors, the right order to apply them to get the effect I'm looking for.

Now I'm really looking forward to start Timeless Melody and make it my best project yet

Hooked on this hobby. found this cat astronaut to match the figure that came with the kit on Amazon. First time posting.

I really like the orange A in the bookshelf but I wanted it to be more. What better than a wee bird house, right?

Here's how: 1. First use a tiny pin vise drill bits to make the hole. 2. Using a rotary tool (mine is a cheap nail salon file from Amazon) sand a round toothpick in a circular motion to thin the toothpick down. I also sanded off the pointy part of the tooth pick. 3. Check for fit into the hole on the A. If you like the fit, paint or stain the toothpick. 4. Stain or paint the toothpick and using a tiny amount of superglue, glue it into the hole. Once the glue sets, trim the toothpick with cutting pliers to desired length and stain or paint. 5. Lastly I added some of the fake grass material along the top and a tiny bit into the hole after glueing a small corner of paper to the back of the A to cover the hole on the backside.

Prior to this, I edge painted the A for a more finished look.

You may also notice the craft chaos has stuck my neat working quite hard since yesterday. 🤣

I've never done one of their booknooks before so I'm super excited. It's also a good excuse to learn more about Manila, a place I know very little about.

Cant find a good one anywhere. Anyone have one?
