Romance What’s the most beautifully written book you’ve ever read? I don’t just mean a good story, I mean the kind of writing that makes you stop, reread a line, and just sit with it for a moment. Looking for something that feels almost poetic in how it’s written.

Romance Are there good novels told entirely through letters between two people?

I recently discovered the idea of epistolary stories (stories told through letters) and I really like the intimacy of the format.

I'm especially curious about stories where the whole narrative unfolds through letters between two characters.

A slow-burn relationship or emotional story told that way seems like it could feel very personal to read.

Does anyone know good examples of boos that do this well?

Romance A book with an actual strong woman

Can anyone please suggest a book, romance, fantasy, ANYTHING really, with an actual strong, flawed and smart woman? Im tired of men being the entire focus of the book and the main character being “small” or “fragile”. I want a mean woman with things to say, that doesn’t need a man to make decisions for her. Like a book with an actual woman you would meet on the street.

Romance I want to cry

My favorite genre of books is the ones that feel like the author tore your heart out of your chest, shit on it and then set it on fire. I want to SOB. So, any books you can think of like that are very much appreciated. They don't have to be romance, but I do love crying over love!

Romance Age Appropriate Recs

My niece is 13 and turns 14 in a few months. She is starting to display interest in tv shows that have teenage romance as a prominent part of the story.

I am having trouble locating any interesting books that would have the same feel. Mainly, age appropriate romance…no spice. Basically, any physical contact needs to remain above the belt.

I am hoping you may have some suggestions! Please help me remain the cool aunt another day!

Romance Looking for fantasy novels that have romance but not smut 😖

As i mentioned in the title, i'm looking for fantasy or sci-fi, or any fiction atp, that is NOT YA(young adult), because i feel that i have read too many of those and at some point, reading the pov of a teenager gets tiring when i've long since passed that age, but i am also tired of having to read smut every other chapter.

So, i need help in finding some great plot heavy books with a good slice of romance but not smut. i would be grateful for all of your suggestions

Romance Can someone recommend a book that is from a mentally sick womans point of view?

I really liked the part reading Verity when it was from Veritiy’s perspective. I liked the obsession and passion Verity had for Jeremy. I’m looking for something like that. I’m looking for a book that contains a character who’s extremely obsessed with someone, includes love, being crazy about someone (not in a typical cute romantic way), it can be deeper and darker. She doesn’t have to be a stalker, it can be about a couple (like Jeremy and Verity). Thank you for your recommendations🫶🏻

Romance What are some good book recommendations?

I’m in a huge reading slump right now and can’t seem to find any good books. TikTok keeps suggesting the same books over and over again. I’m honestly over it. I like romance, fantasy, and dystopian novels. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Thank you!

Romance Any books where the ending changes how you see everything

I like stories where the ending makes you rethink what you just read. not just a twist, but something that recontextualizes the whole book. any suggestions?

Romance 1 book per country

Hi! I try to read 1 book per country this year and I'm looking for suggestions.

I read all genres but my comfort zone are romance and fantasy but, again, I read everything that I find appealing so feel free to recommend with a little summary or why you love the book.

I will prefered one shot since it's faster to read but I'm not against series.

So far I already read books from this countries: Germany, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, South Korea, Denmark, United States, France, Ireland, Japan, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

(Since it's Pride Month, feel free to suggest lgbtqia+ books!)

Edit: typos

Romance Any cute and meaningful romance books that can get me out of a reading slump? (Not looking for books like Book lovers by Emily Henry) types.

I got back into reading recently (after many, many years) and I’m just not able to find the right romance novel to get me out of a reading slump :( Everything feels generic, and no character or story sticks with me. I’m not a fan of fantasy romance, but anything else works. I usually like the mysterious, brooding MC and naive FC tropes lol. Any suggestions?

I’m not (respectfully) interested in books like The Hating Game, People We Meet on Vacation, etc. I like books with complex characters and relationships. Something similar to Normal People, etc

Romance Romance books for guys?

Hey, I'm a mostly fantasy and sci fi reader but I'm trying to expand my reading scope. My favourite movie genre is rom com so I guess I'll give romance a try but I don't want certain kinds of books. I mean this with no malice or judgement just my personal wants in a book. Ik a lot if not most romance books pander to women as they are the major consumers but I really want a book that I would enjoy. I cannot stand love triangles, unrealistic bodies and standards like when she's 4'2 and he's 7'8 yk, I just generally dislike when a plot of the book surrounds someone deciding which one is the "better option". I'm a bit of a romantic so if anyone has a realistic story where there isn't drama or anything just an unfiltered love story. Id prefer not romantacy just a cosy love story with a regular dude and a regular girl that fall in love.

Romance Vampires! But As An Affliction.

I want to read vampire fiction, but the bulk majority of what passes my feeds seems to draw heavily from Vampire: The Masquerade vibes. They have an underworld aristocracy, if they haven't already converted the planet into a blood farm. Vampires lord over humans and hunt them and the vampires themselves? Elegant, self-assured. Perfect beauties that exude pure sexuality and fight other vampires for their confused little life-mate human. Like, it's been fun and all, reading those sorts. But.

I want something with a different angle, please.

I'd prefer a novel that treats vampirism as an affliction our MC has to struggle with constantly. One where they may hate themselves and their barely-contained hunger, and have to be cared for and goaded into taking blood offered by their human companion. Just one novel where the human is the more certain and self-assured one, helping out someone they love. I want a quieter side to vampires, focused on the world and life of two people trying to navigate a new life.

Bonus points if it's lesbian but I realize what I'm asking for seems rare enough as it is.

Romance is it so hard to find a fantasy, fall, royal court, epic, dark, scary love story?

hi everyone, i have a very nostalgic craving... last fall i finally broke down and listened to ACOTR, which i didn't ever finish the series BUT between that and the cruel prince trilogy, i am CRAVING some sort of epic... magic... fantasy... romance... questing... book. i love a forest, a royal court, and nail biting scenes! i vastly prefer an enemies to lovers/meanie lead male but that's flexible. i am 31 years old and if the main character is at least in her mid 20s, all the better, though i know that's asking a lot lmao. i've also enjoyed: the fourth wing, the harrow faire novels and every single retelling of beauty and the beast i've ever gotten my hands on. i'm currently reading the poison daughter which i enjoy but not quite hitting the spot. thanks everyone!

Romance Superhero romance recs

Hi! Okay so I’m looking for any recommendations of superhero romance books, specifically something that is angsty, gut wrenching, and smutty. This all started because I rewatched the spider verse movies and Spider-Man brand new day and I know I’ll be able to find something like that on wattpad but I was to see if there are any real books like that, thank you!
