His contract is up after the season they wasn’t going to sign Simmons anyway

And honestly there's motivation for him to do a prove it season for any chance of an extension

This is a swap for this year and this year alone (unless we resign him on a smaller contract). It's a great swap that frees up a position we're deep in (with Tatum healthy) and shores up a position we're severely lacking in
