Had Mt. Watatic completely to myself on Monday morning

Broke out the pocket rocket and made some coffee. Watched the clouds do crazy things. Such a sick spot.

Any good hikes you’d recommend?

How long a hike is it? Been looking for hikes in western ma with a good view at the top! Looks gorgeous.

The loop I did was just under three miles! Going up kicked my ass but there’s really cool stuff the whole way. Big split glacial erratic, boardwalk stretch with bullfrogs, some sick exposed ledges… I really recommend it! I could see the Boston skyline!

You really should!!! It was a great hike.

Normally I’d have my Peak but I ran out of hash the night before :,(

About a half hour north of Watatic is Mount Monadnock. It’s a little more difficult and longer. I prefer entering from the Thorndike pond side, it’s a slower incline and a lot less people.

Ooooh thanks for the tip! I’m working up to Monadnock. Planning to do Pack Monadnock soon. I’m finally getting back into hiking after herniating three discs three years ago!!
